  • Great little coop. Added paint. Awesome! Great little coop. Added paint. Awesome!
Great coop for what I needed it for: To house my crooked beak silkie and my new chicks. I painted it to protect it from the harsher weather and for the longevity of the coop. Need to add one more coat and sealer. I accidentally attached the wrong side (where the chicken door/ramp is) but it still works great as I keep that door open anyway. This Coop is not perfectly sturdy but will be great with reinforcement. I keep this mini coop in another enclosed fenced coop area so they can roam around safely. The inside is awesome and roomy. I like this coop for what I need it for and adding paint for protection is definitely worth it if you want to get more out of it. The price is great and I’m overall very satisfied with this purchase. It was easy to assemble. After I painted the pieces, I assembled in about an hour. Turned out cute! ... show more

  • Very lightweight, and be ready to reinforce weak spots
I bought it knowing how expensive materials are and how much my time is worth designing, cutting, and all of the other tasks required when building a nice looking chicken coop from scratch. For under $200 delivered to my door, I do think it is a good deal, so far. We will see how long it lasts. Thinking about painting or otherwise protecting the wood. I don't plan to move it much, but I am still planning to mount it atop a sled to slide it across the ground without shaking it up too much. THE WOOD IS VERY THIN. That is great to keep it light, but not so great at making it strong. Some simple reinforcements will go a long way to beef it up. The perches provided are small diameter wood rods that are not adequate for all but the smallest chickens. I am changing mine to a piece of 3/4" ×1.5" it before I put the roof on. The instructions are only drawings so take your time to see which way and where you are placing parts during assembly. ... show more

  • Fine coop Fine coop
I’m very half with this coop. It is only big enough for two chickens. I intentionally left out a few steps, like the door handle to enter the coop. It was weird. I also am not a fan that there is not access to the coop under the nesting box. But it was easy to put together, and in one had to redo a few screws ... show more

  • Serves its purpose & price = quality Serves its purpose & price = quality
I actually am happy with it BUT it did require a little extra work to get it together because it wasn’t cut exactly right. Especially the attached hutch. I had to hand saw pieces to get them to fit properly, which was hard since the wood is very light and splinters easily. There were pieces that arrived broken and required an extra day before assembly because I used wood glue to repair it. That being said, I like it because the lighter wood makes it very easy to move around. While I have chicks now the plan is to only keep about 2-3 yard chickens who will be moved around to destroy overgrowth. I also keep my birds in a sunroom during the winter (see pic) so this is very easy to move and clean regularly. I will be sealing it with outdoor paint before I even consider leaving it in the elements which I highly suggest if you plan to keep it outside since the wood is not treated. Make your decision as you see fit and know it’s a cheep chicken coop. That can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you are trying to achieve. I wouldn’t recommend it for someone who plans to have 4+ chickens over several years but if you cycle through chickens every 1-2 years it will definitely get the job done. We raise chickens for hybrid purposes so it’s perfect for us. Will probably buy another one in 2-3 years as we start the cycle over again. ... show more

  • cheap. a.f. cheap. a.f.
gave this a few stars, because it is the cheapest. thing. ever. here are some reasons why i regret my decision to purchase this poor excuse for a coop: had i not been in a pinch, i would have researched coops better and found one that, i don’t know, actually attaches to the roof?! it’s basically a half step up from particle board and consists of a thin cedarish smelling flimsy wood. there are no perches for the chickies to sleep on, and if you decide to make your own, like we did, the coop is too short and they can’t use them. the nesting box will need to be made into two, as it’s hella big. (and flimsy) -this is where our chickies sleep. a lot of the boards were chipped and split. -which sucked. we were missing a screw. we had to come up with alternative ways to attach them to one another. INCLUDING THE FREAKING ROOF. i hope to all that is magical and holy, that we don’t have strong winds, because i my poor chickies will get swept away. if you’re new to getting chickens, take the money you’d waste on this, and look elsewhere. as in not pre-fab. this is not the coop you are looking for. ... show more

  • Small functional well designed chicken coop Small functional well designed chicken coop
For what it is..great tiny coop. It is far easier to drill some holes that don't match than to design and purchase all the materials to make this on your own. I like the design and it is perfect for 2 or 3 chickens. The nesting box design is great and love the ability to slide the bottom out for cleaning. Just be aware this is very small and three hens is actually pushing it a bit. It is light enough my spouse and I can move it. I will update if we have any issues with security as far as predators. The material is thin, but our coop part is in a barn and will have a heating panel. If this was outside in a harsh winter would add some type of insulation. So far it seems sturdy enough. ... show more

  • not what youd expect
I had put this coop together with my kids. It was not easy to assemble. It took up two days since to put together. The slide in rake to keep the coop clean is not holding up. The roof part of the coop is starting to break apart. Mind you I did purchase this last year in 2023 but a coop is supposed to be sturdy since animals will be going in there. You's think that as long as animals don't go in there that the coop will be in good condition. Wrong the material is biodegradable. I had to constantly go back and forth to Lowes or Home Depot to get a small piece of wood to replace for the material that was given. Honestly, I don't think the wood that they had this out of was wood at all. Maybe some artificial heavy cardboard. ... show more
