The size is great and assembly was simple. Materials seem sturdy. The chickens absolutely love the perch in the middle! The only downfall is the tarp holds water/weighs down, and the wire is cheap. We wrapped extra metal chicken wire around the perimeter. Other than that, the chicks are happy. I’m curious to see how it will hold up during the winter. We are in MN. ... show more

I bought this for 10 bantam chickens. It was easy to put the frame up by myself within half an hour or so. The chicken wire is just regular ol chicken wire with a plastic coating. The tarp feels like I might get a year out of it. It comes with tie wire and a boat load of zip ties. The section the tarp covers is going to need more support. The first rain we got, created a large puddle on the top of the run, causing the tarp to sag significantly and made me worry it would destroy the chicken wire across the top. So plan to get some 1/2 inch plywood or something to place on top between the frame and the tarp. The welds are not good at all on the frame but should hold up okay. This coop is a good size and actually too big for two chickens. But the little house I got for them fits well inside. It easy to put the frame together by yourself. But not easy to do the chicken wire. The chicken wire is cheap and breaks easy when putting it on. This did take two people. Total about 6 hours. I did go around the bottom half with window screen to reinforce the coop. I added a ring of brick around the inside and sunk the coop into the ground a few inches. ... show more

I ordered a different brand first. Hard to say why, something about its listing just convinced me it was higher quality. After putting it together I was kinda satisfied with it, I credited some of its weaker points as engineering challenges to make something light and cheaper to ship. This one changed that. It comes with legit chicken wire. Not sure what gauge, or what is even normal in that context, but its not welded squares with paper thin wire that break apart when looked at wrong. I like the door construction on this one better too, that it uses actual hinges instead of rotating on a pipe like assembly. It's also a couple inches larger. Super nit picky, but as a trade off its corners are curved instead of sharp corners so if you did a bunch of math on square footage I bet its a toss up. Now the single thing I will be hard on. I'm not sure what they had in mind with the "latches" they sent with my kit but they are entirely useless. They don't fit the gap in the door right and there's just no reasonable way to make them work. I ended up ordering some gate latches similar to what are on my prefab coops and some self tapping screws and went with those. I won't even let that detract a star though because I'm that happy with it overall. My other I'll likely have to recover with chicken wire before long. I think this one will last as assembled out of the box (other than hatches) for quite some time. I have no input on the tarp it came with, haven't put it on yet. ... show more

Fits out 4 chickens like a charm with enough room to add two more if desired. Some of the pieces were bent but nothing a flat head screw driver and hammer couldn’t fix to get pics to fit (like 3 total had Amal bends preventing connection). Someone mentioned sagging in the roof, not been a problem here. Also someone had put they had to buy more zip ties. We thought there was plenty plus they send you a ton of single wire that can be used to secure wire. The longest and most tedious was straining the chicken wire. Needless to say it can be done with one person but too much work. Have a friend/spouse help! Ps the roosts in the middle of the run…. So perfect. ... show more
