Simple set up, great clarity, lots of settings, intuitive to use, solid mounting system and good product support. I've owned Ring cameras for a long time (for years before Amazon acquired them in 2018. I own 7 Ring cameras including these spotlight cams, a couple of doorbell cams and one interior cam. The quality of Ring products in general has increased incrementally over the years since Amazon dished out $1 billion for them in 2018. Ironically, the geniuses on "Shark Tank" passed on funding Ring when it was a startup in 2013! The founder, Jamie Siminoff literally laughed all the way to the bank. Pro/Con of this spotlight corded model: -Simple initial camera set up -Clear image, night and day -Great adjustability via the app settings for lights, camera, motion and overall device data -Easy outdoor installation IF you have the right stuff on hand -Great cloud recording that has a flat yearly rate for 4+ cameras (I have 7 cameras) -Far better support these days than the pre-2018 merger -App works great -Camera quality overall has increased greatly since the original "Doorbell" cameras were launched. Those early doorbell models could be an enormous pain to set up, power up and install in general and there were a lot of defective models in circulation - not anymore. I've bought 4 "refurbed" Spotlight cameras and all were perfect. Con: -You need really solid WIFI bandwidth, an up to date modem and good proximity from the camera to the modem. Many of the 1 & 2 star reviews stem from lack or proper bandwidth, a junky modem or too much distance between the camera and the modem. I upped my WIFI to Verizon FiOS 1GB plus the newest FiOS modem (that's key - 1GB with an outdated modem is pointless) and all my cameras work great. BUT, if you don't have those fundamentals, you can/will have massive problems. -You need an available power outlet outside to plug this in unless you "customize" the power cord (I did that). I had to cut the 2 pronged plug off my camera to thread the wire from the outside of my home to the inside of the garage where my power source is located and then attach an after market 2 pronged plug. Not an issue for me but it could be for some folks so think ahead about your own installation or have it done professionally if you lack that Liam Neeson - like "particular set of skills". Overall, Ring cameras are vastly improved and work really well. It's impossible to address all exterior installation challenges and they do exist so be aware and prepare ahead of time.     • Super easy solution that never needs charging!

I have ring cameras all around my property. I have the doorbell, stick up battery cam and stick up wired cams. This was my first wired spotlight cam. I was surprised that it had a thick hardwire coming out the back with a 3 prong plug on it like an extension cord. This is not at all like my stickup wired cam that had a small cord that detached from the back and could be threaded through a small hole in the garage siding. That worked out alright, because this camera was going to be mounted off my deck and plugged in on top of the deck - just like an extension cord. The refurbished unit came in a box with all of the mounting hardware and instructions included - just like new. I feel that the "kinks" were already worked out with this camera - and with a full warranty - why not save $60? I bought the black camera to blend in with my cedar colored deck. The motion detector works well, and the light is okay. If you have a small yard, it would work - I have a large back yard, and the "spotlight" feature seems like a waste - other than it may scare a person or animal away if it pops on unexpectedly. The night vision works very well, though. I have a fish pond, and I bought this camera to see what kind of wildlife comes into my yard. Occasionally a fish comes up missing, and I'm curious where they are going! Unfortunately, the camera - even on light motion settings, picks up the fish swimming around! I had to turn the alerts off, because it was constant! Overall, I'm very happy with the camera so far. I love the wired power, because I don't really care how often it goes off. A battery cam would die quickly in this location. I have the Ring Camera plan for multiple cameras, so it all records and I can review it whenever needed. So far, so good... ... show more

Product came in original packaging with all manuals and parts still sealed in bags. Box had been opened but other than that it looks brand new! We put this on our back deck and it works perfectly. Just make sure you have a good WiFi signal. Comes pre-wired with a long extension cord. Not a flood light but lights up my backyard pretty well and the video quality is great. Plenty of motion sensing and notification options to fit your needs. We now have piece of mind knowing what is going on back there 24/7. ... show more

This was super easy to install. The only thing with the Ring system is that it seems you need a Chime Pro to connect anything to your network. This is my second Ring device and while they'll initially connect to my WiFi network, they will drop off frequently without of Chime Pro. I'm sure that has to do with the the automated feature within my router that switches from 2.4 to 5 Ghz automatically. Ring doesn't like the 5 Ghz band, especially if it has to travel through any number of walls. With that being said, the video on this is excellent. The user software is really easy and intuitive. Setup is as simple as scanning the QR code on the box. I will say that the volume on the speaker isn't that loud, I do wish I could turn it up. All in all, I like this product, I like the size, the light isn't crazy bright to bug my neighbors when the motion detector goes off and the night vision is better than I expected. Super easy to set up, if you have a little experience with a drill. Plus, you can set the motion detection zone, so it only picks up what crosses that barrier. My neighbors kids where bouncing on a trampoline and setting off the motion detector, so I used that function to only trip when something happens in my yard, which is pretty cool. ... show more

Super easy to install and tie into the rest of my Ring system, great picture and video quality, and love the color night vision. This camera is the best piece that I have in my Ring arsenal, and the refurbished model looked brand new and was packaged as such.
