I have purchased a few of these systems over the past couple of years and plan to buy more in the future. I use these on my rental properties. They help the renter feel and stay safe but they also help me to solve mysteries. (Had someone damaging something at a property and discovered it was their daughter sneaking out meet up with friends.) They are easy to install and easy to use. If you need to copy an incident on to a zip drive it is easy to do. I had an incident where a tenant's child was playing with matches and started a fire and we were able to give a file to the police and fire marshal showing everything from every camera what happened and when it happened. I also like to add another camera from the same company that records audio. That allowed us to hear every word the kid was saying when playing with the matches and starting the fire. We could fast forward to when the fire department showed up and the police showed up and you could hear everything. The night vision is so good that the only way to tell that it isn't daylight is that you notice that everything is in black and white. We had some people sneaking around another house night after night. It was funny to watch the people try to stick to the shadows and skulk around in the darkness. It was funny because on the screen it looked they were walking around in broad daylight and with that extra camera with the audio we could hear most everything they were saying even though they were trying to keep quite. The cops thought it was funny too. You could see them hiding in the dark and hear them talk about what they were stealing and the drugs they were doing and selling and the people they... well you get the picture. I was there when the cops confronted a few of them. The cop started saying they had been seen at such and such place and one of the tweakers quickly spoke right up and said that there was no way anyone saw them because it was pitch black where they had been and no one was around to hear them. The cop produced the video of them and asked if that was or was not them. The fight that broke out amongst the criminals was amusing to say the least. Each accusing the other of ratting the other out. The screen being part of the main unit keeps things from "walking" off to be used on something else or someone trying to use it as a tv. It does not need to be hooked up to the internet but it can be so you could use your smartphone to watch the video feed from anywhere if you so wanted too. So, I as a landlord and the tenant can keep track of things. To be honest I was very reluctant to install cameras on my rental properties but after one renter had so many problems we agreed it would be best for both them and myself if we could prove what was going on. The system worked so well I offered them to other renters and they have come to love them too. One renter likes to move the screen to where ever they are working. (That way they can keep an eye on the front door.) They simply unplug the unit, pick it up and go to another room and plug it back in. The system will automatically reconnect with the cameras in a minute or two and begin recording with out you having to do anything. Also, the 3Tb hard drive can hold a lot of video. With only three cameras installed on one system, one of the cameras being the one that can record audio, we had over six months of recordings on the hard drive and still had room for more. Ive had this camera set for a couple of weeks now. I connected cameras and NVR to an old monitor I had with a VGA adapter. System connected right away. USB cord comes with it but not the VGA cable. Cameras are wireless to NVR but have to be plugged into an outlet, there’s 10’ of cable to power adapters for that. I went over the manual expecting similar user experience that I had with my Lorex system. Sorry to say, this manual was definitely not written by an American/English person. Too many sentences and instructional words were incorrect grammar or missing. I had a hard time figuring it out. The manual is confusing. I don’t know how many days of recording you have before system starts over again b/c it’s not in manual. I would need help getting the wifi connected b/c of the “lost in translation” I already have one camera flickering, The night vision is not optimal, it lights up area about 50 feet. Having other lighting in area will help and you’ll need it. If there is something close to camera like a fence or something, the night vision past it is dark, as the light is absorbed by anything close. Recording and “real time “which I wanted it for, to see what was going on outside ,is nice and clear being new. The price was great, during prime deal days. UPDATE: Two cameras are already down. I’ve only had this for a few weeks One camera stopped working just b/c it was unplugged ,to check the first camera that stopped working! I reached out to support, they did respond quickly, within a day. They are sending out replacement cameras. They came within two days!Then there is a pairing process to figure out but it actually wasn’t that hard. Cameras paired instantly under ( add wireless..) This is an update. I’ve increased the stars b/c of the great customer service support. I still don’t know why cameras had a problem but sometimes the C.S. out ways and easily corrects the problem, then they deserve the credit. They didn’t ignore the problem. I have had several camera systems. I have 6 cameras around my house and a mesh system for my wifi. This system has given me zero grief. I have waited to put a review up as you can't tell until you get longevity on the equipment. This system gives me peace of mind from cameras dropping signals at the wrong times. I live on a Bay and I have to watch for ship wakes etc, this system does the job. I haven't had to reset everything 15 times a month or change camera positions, worked right away. I have thrown away my old system at this point and I am in the long haul with this one I have. I have extreme heat with salt air and wind and the cameras have held up.
