I give this product an overall 4 stars. For the price, it’s a decent security system. I’ve had this system for about a month. I love that it comes with its own monitor. The monitor is a little glitchy but it does what it’s supposed to do. Videos during the day are great, a little blurry even on high quality setting, but good enough for what I got them for which is mainly keeping an eye on our driveway. The night vision is good enough to see that something is happening outside but unless you know exactly who or what you’re looking at, it’s somewhat useless as the videos get really dark and grainy and it’s hard to make out details. The motion detection is good for the most part. I got a third camera with a spotlight and added it to the system a week or two ago. After I changed which camera connects to which channel, it took several days for the cameras to start properly detecting motion again, even after I restarted the system to calibrate everything. For a while, one of my cameras would randomly record 10 minute videos even tho there was nothing happening outside. I really like the area masking feature as it keeps the cameras from recording every little movement especially since they’re set up outside and we get a lot of wind where I live. The cameras themselves are decent, they seem a little cheap being made out of plastic instead of metal like the spotlight one I got. Something I would prefer on the camera set up would be a ball and socket joint for angling the camera and positioning it the way I want, instead of having two screws to loosen and tighten to get a decent angle. A ball and socket would be so much easier to work with. Again, that’s what I like about the spotlight camera I got is that it has the ball and socket rotation and not the weird little screws. OK let’s talk about the app. HOOBOY. This app needs some… well… a lot of help. It’s definitely not user friendly. This is my biggest complaint about the system. The cameras come with an Ethernet cable giving you the option to connect your system to the internet while you’re away. I think it’s awesome that it’s totally up to you to connect or not. HOWEVER, the app basically only allows you to view the camera if you’re connected to your own internet…. Kind of counter productive, right? It’s gets worse. Being that the app is supposed to let me view my cameras remotely, it’s doesn’t work using the data on my phone and I’m not always connected to Wifi…. Rendering this feature completely useless. The other thing about this app is that I have no control over videos. I cannot save or share from the app, which would be so nice to be able to do, especially if I’m not around. The only thing that I can do is watch the videos that are saved on the monitor. In the app I cannot fast forward or rewind. I have to sit and watch the entire video. The only other thing I can do is save and share snapshots which is good but it would be nice to be able to save and share videos as well. Overall, this system is decent for the price and does what it’s supposed to do. But it would be nice to at least make the app more user friendly by including the few features that I mentioned.

UPDATE:7-24-2019: I have upgraded my review to 5 stars. You can see my complete video review on YouTube. Search for "CASACAM WIRELESS" in the search bar. You will find 3 videos to view. 1. After communicating with the manufacturer they have explained to me that the plastic housing is UV rated. 2. It is normal for the camera to feel warm to the touch. 3. After having the camera for several days. I have discovered that this system is feature packed with many options to enhance the cameras performance. 4. Video quality is very good 5. Customer service is excellent. Two Camera Night Vision CasaCam, (this is the system without the extra spotlight). My first impressions: THE CAMERA: 1. The camera material feels cheaply constructed. It is plastic no metal or aluminum. 2. The lens cover is plastic not glass and is most likely susceptible to scratches and probably yellowing with age (like car headlight covers). 3. The infrared L.E.D.’s on the front of the camera (they turn red at night) look poorly soldered. 4. The camera is warm to the touch when on (day or night). I don’t know if this is normal. 5. The power cord with the supplied extension cable for each camera is about 16 feet long. Not long enough for most installations. They charge $10.99 for additional 15 feet of extension cable. 6. They claim the camera is “WEATHERPROOF” but should not be exposed to rain. It is probably fine mounted under an overhang or eave. They should consider making a rain/weather shield. 7. The mounting bracket is adjustable but would be much better if it were a ball and socket. 8. The instruction manual is better than I expected but is not clear on every function of the camera system. It wouldn’t hurt if they used a larger font. The MONITOR: 1. The monitor feels nice with a little weight to it. It should be 10 inches for a better viewing of 2 or more cameras in split screen mode. 2. The kick stand on the back is a nice feature but it feels flimsy and will probably break with a little pressure. 3. The screen is a touch screen and responds okay but is a little awkward if you don’t get your finger in the right spot (make sure you remove the protective film or it will not perform well at all). 4. The menu bar is pretty straight forward and simple. It is easy to figure out once you have played with the system for a few minutes. 5. The monitor can be unplugged and carried around. This is a very nice feature. The battery life varies according to reviews I have read. I have used it for about an hour and a half with some charge still available. The Video: 1. The daytime video quality is not bad at all. You will be able to recognize someone standing at your front door etc. You will see cars driving up and down the street. You will not be able to read a license plate (unless the license plate is right in front of the camera). 2. The motion detection works and is adjustable and can be turned off. 3. The night time video is acceptable. It is in black and white (it makes my blue eyes look very creepy) and you may not be able to recognize someone so easily. 4. The two way speaker works, but is not as good as I had hoped. It is tinny sounding and there is a lag between talking and listening. You have to press the talk button while talking and release to listen. The playback sound on the video seems to be much better quality than the live audio. 5. The SD card is over writable. For best playback I put the SD card in my computer where I have more control over the playback options. 6. Internet connection. I am not using that option at this time so I have no comments. BOTTOM LINE: It’s not a bad camera system. The video is very good especially in the day time. The camera system has features for recording times and alarms. The portability of the monitor is an excellent feature. I wish the camera was constructed better. I can’t help but wonder about the longevity of this camera. From all the negative reviews I have read on Amazon the manufacturer has responded to most trying to work with their customers to resolve any issues that have arisen which makes me feel like this is a good company and improvements will hopefully be in the near future. Of course I have already spent my money on a product that for now seems to work very well.

So far I love them could not be simpler plug them into electricity plug the monitor in they come on I really like that you can set it up to just record when there's motion and they have a microphone I can talk to somebody outside. Range seems to be pretty good the one out in my back yard is through three walls and it's working great. Video quality is good the night vision is good. The greatest thing about these cameras is you don't have to have Wi-Fi or Internet at all you can hook them up to it but these are closed circuit no internet needed which is hard to come by now. I hope these cameras give me at least a few years of service because if they don't I will be back to leave a one-star but so far I really love them!!

Update - After 14 months of use the tablet started restarting every 20 minutes or so. Would no longer connect to internet. Still monitored and recorded locally with breaks in coverage upon restarting. For the price it might still be worth it, considering it ran great for over a year. Original post - Overall very good camera system that does everything I need it to do. Set up was straightforward. Each camera requires wired power so I had to purchase power extension cables for each camera to reach the outlets. Daytime pictures are very clear. Touchpad works well and is fairly intuitive. BTW to get the tablet to go into screensaver mode without having to constantly see the picture, quickly press the button at the top of the screen. This was not in the owner's manual. I have the system set to record continuously and it takes about five days before the SD card is full and it starts to record over the oldest recording. It also records sound which is really nice. I have actually been able to hear conversations of people on the street 60 feet away. Motion detection works well. It will turn on the screen if in screensaver mode and will send you alerts if you have it hooked to internet. Internet connection requires ethernet hook up and uses the MyCamView App. Setting this up was not too difficult. I can view my camera feed remotely through the phone using this app. It skips a little but gives you a stop motion view of what is happening (my internet speed is not that fast). Motion detection is very good and will also send an alert if the system in hooked to internet. The only real con is the night vision. It is pretty grainy and pure black and white. It's functional but I also have a Uniden camera system that delivers a much clearer night picture in color; that is also a much more expensive system. So very good overall system that would benefit from better night vision. I will likely buy another one but may upgrade to the VS1002 for better night vision cameras.

Exactly what I wanted. This is a nice simple affordable camera system that DOES NOT require wifi, a router or internet to work. Setup is simple, camera's are good, monitor is good, recording of video works as expected. night vision is decent, motion detection works but is not very long range and the audio (one way or two way) is good. Once you download the app to your phone and connect the monitor to your router you can view the camera's remotely, your results viewing the camera remotely will depend on the quality of your internet connection on both ends (camera end and cell phone end). Please understand this is a basic camera system quality of picture is average quality and features are adequate but somewhat limited. If you are looking for a high end feature rich video system this is not it! But if you are looking for a decent camera system with reasonable functionality I highly recommend this product. At this price point I don't think you can do much better. **Quick update** Have owned the product for six months now, It is in continuous use 24/7 One power adapter stopped working, Contacted the company by email and they promptly responded (less then 12 hours) and will send me a replacement no problems no issues. Things break, that's life but quality customer service like this is what makes a product stronger. very pleased!
