THIS FAN DOES NOT DESERVE A SINGLE STAR, WOULDN'T POST REVIEW WITHOUT A STAR. INSTALL WAS A ROYAL PAIN THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE NOT COMPLETE AND SOMEONE WHO HAS NO EXPERIENCE WITH INSTALLING ELECTRICAL/CEILING FAN WOULD BE TOTALLY SCREWED. AFTER TWO HOURS (forget the '30 minute install') FINALLY TRYING THE REMOTE and 1st thing was a strobe light LED.... not ok... and 2nd thing was the daggum fan / remote would not work. Packing it back up at this very moment to return. HAVE INSTALLED 30 TO 40 CEILING FANS AND HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS TOTAL FAILURE IN ANY. ... show more

    • Unnecessary loud beep and poor light control function

It works okay. I'd suggest watching the video on the Amazon page for this item to help with installation. I couldn't figure out the installation before I watched that. This unit has a few serious design flaws. 1. When you turn it on at the switch (to turn on the light when you walk in the room) it makes a very loud beep that will wake up a person in the next room. It also beeps every time you hit a button on the remote, even when you hit the "mute" button. If you leave the wall switch on and use only the remote to turn the light and fan on and off, you can keep the beep muted with the remote. But why does a fan need a beep and a mute button? 2. The "light" button on the remote is tiny. So if you use only the remote to turn on the light to avoid the beep, you'll be hunting for that tiny button. 3. The light changes color every time you turn it on or off. So if you like the soft white color, you have to click the "light" button on the remote 5 times to get to the soft white light. I'll be replacing this with something else soon. ... show more

Meh. This fan looks nice and it works better than the crappy old fan it replaced but it’s not very powerful. If I had to do it again I would buy a different fan. Very underwhelming. The build quality is fine, but the very flat blades hardly move air even at the max setting. Look for a fan with a slight curve in the wing design if you want to move serious air. For example, if you’re looking at the fan blade from the shortest side ( outer edge of the fan blade ), it should be slightly curved instead of flat. The flat ones just don’t move air. I installed 6 ceiling fans in my house this month, various sizes from 52-84 inches, 3 with flat blades and 3 with curved blades, and the curved ones all move way more air than the flat ones. The price on this fan is great but you get what you pay for. Look elsewhere unless money is a serious problem. ... show more
