Even though I'm a female I've installed and helped install several fan lamps. This one was a little tricky and like everyone says the instructions are not that great but if you've done them before you can kind of figure it out which might have been my advantage. I did watch the videos they basically show you a lot of things without details so personally I didn't find the videos any helpful. Just read the instructions two to three times before you connect anything and you should be able to figure it out okay. I do recommend this fan biggest pluses it's price points very inexpensive for what it does. I've never had a ceiling fan with more than three speeds this one comes with six. And the lights actually have to keep it on dim cuz they're bright as extremely bright. I'm using it in a small office. Molly concern is and it's not mentioned I don't think in the listing is it has a round disc of a bunch of LED dots. I know LEDs are meant to last for thousands of hours but I don't know if when this one if or when it dies in my lifetime how I would replace it. But since the fan was such a cheap price point how we just replaced the entire fan. The fan is extremely quiet I've never had one so quiet and it's nice not having the pull chains on it. I just mounted the bracket near the light switch on the wall since it's hot wired so that I can just grab the remote whenever I need to use it in the summer months when it's hotter. Since I have a light in my office I don't think I'll be using the lights in this fan but it's nice to know they're there. ... show more

The fan is nice and has made a great improvement on air flow in the room. The light is very bright and it does seem very sturdy. The fan has a variety of speeds. The price is obviously cheap which was another bonus. Overall I am happy with it. There are some negatives though. First, the paper directions included are terrible. Instead watch the video in the listing at the top. It’s not perfect, but if you have even a little knowledge of light fixtures, it should get you through. We bought and installed 4. The first took a few hours and I was down to 30-45 minutes by the last one. 2nd, the app does not have great range. The fan is not connected to wifi. While that is nice in some ways, I was hoping to be able to control it outside the house to make sure the lights are turned off or to start cooling the house if we are out. Finally pairing to the app is not explained well in the app or directions. After reading through app reviews, I learned it can only be paired right when the unit receives power. Since we did not connect ours to a wall switch, it meant disconnecting and reconnecting a wire inside. ... show more

Had 6 installed on porch. App wouldn’t download, had to use the remotes with one fan that wouldn’t work with remote at all. Every time I turned off the switch for outside, ALL fans would reset, so I had to get remotes out and set them again. Now past return date due to contractors and I can’t return them. This fan is great! It is quiet. Mine is installed in an angled ceiling. I really like the aesthetic. It has a low glow at night - which is actually nice and I’m hoping it’s suppose to be there and not installed incorrectly. I didn’t see the wording in the one pic that it was smart. The issue All smart products have is they aren’t great if you have power outages. They come on when the power comes back on after an outage. I like it enough to keep it and will try to remember to keep it dimmed during stormy weather. ... show more

It's a great fan with good lighting and amazing airflow and speeds. It is a bit tricky with mounting it, so as long as you're ready for a headscratcher of a time mounting, unless your power socket box/hole is large then you're golden!

Nice, effective and quiet ceiling fan that does exactly what is advertises it's supposed to do. Timer setting on remote is a nice feature if you don't want it to keep running all night (we are using it in a bedroom). Sleek and modern style. Fairly easy to install if you just take your time and think through each step. The only reason I didn't give it five full stars is because the light color (warm, medium, cool) goes back to the default setting after you turn it off at the wall switch.
