Maybe it's just my door handles but they're just regular interior door knobs so not sure. But they do keep the door ajar for the cats and keeps the dogs out. This was so much easier than cutting a cat door in my door. I have a 80 pound lab and a 65 pound pit bull and they have not had an issue. They are both pretty well behaved, so they haven’t tested the strength limits or anything. It is just to keep them from nosing around the litter box. But if they try to open the door, they feel the resistance and turn the other way. Great product so far. Highly recommend. I like that there are adjustable holes throughout to get the right sized opening to keep my cats out of rooms, but still let air flow through the house. Could do without the silly black spots, but I just flip it over and it's plain white. I'm ordering another set!

Super easy to install, works as described. My smallest dog is 11 lbs. and doesn't even get close to fitting through to the litter boxes. Both my male cats are ideal weights (9 + 11 lbs). They have plenty of room to get through. It is a 3 1/2" opening. If their head fits, so should their body. If you happen to have a very heavy cat, it may be a challenge. The only complaint I have is that it falls down, and sometimes off the door handle. I have temporarily fixed the problem with a rubber band. I recommend this product. ... show more

I put the first one on my cats litter room door my dog tried to get in and broke it in one spot. I moved peg to new knotch and now it's basically to short for all my doorknobs cat can't fit through the opening. But the second one after about 24 hours is still in perfect condition.
