Our dogs would holler like it was the end of the world, every time we tried to trim their nails. We were tired of being the villain. So, we designed scratch products to file their nails without stressing them out. They were a success! We want to share our solution with other caring dog owners. I am so happy I decided to give this a try. I have a 100lb lab that absolutely hates having his paws touched or nails trimmed. I tried clippers at home and a silent grinder but he always fought away and I could never get his nails trimmed. Groomers pretty much always gave up to so I had basically given up and his nails got out of control. After 3 weeks with this toy I have seen a huge improvement with his nails. He loves to play with it and figured it out after about 2 sessions. I love that it also keeps him mentally stimulated as well. I have to keep my foot on it it to keep it from sliding around but not a big deal. Highly recommend for anyone with a large dog that nothing seems to work for trimming their nails! ... show more

    • Great Product and Quality Customer Service!
We've always had issues with trimming our pups nails, and found this product after doing some research on other ways to help maintain a dogs nails. We ordered this toy on the 2nd of October, and it got to our house on the 5th, our pup fell in love with the toy within a day of using it, and will play with it to eat (we fill it with her kibble) before she even touches her actual food bowl. Unfortunately the toy fell on the 12th after our pup knocked it out of our hands in excitement when we were filling it up. We tried to fix it ourselves, but two springs came out of it and we couldn't open it up to even see if we had found everything. We emailed the Zenly Paws customer service team about the problem and they replied back within a few hours on how to fix the toy. They even offered to send us some extra parts in case our eager pup breaks it again. The toy is perfect for food motivated dogs who need mental stimulation and a little help with nail care, and the company is very quick to respond to any issues or concerns! ... show more

    • Nice Puzzle Toy, Too Hard To Train Dog
It's a great puzzle toy but the function of teaching the dog to scratch, thus dropping treats, is not that simple. It's as much work as training a puppy for months. Great puzzle toy though.

    • Works, it’s not a perfect solution but it is helpful
My dog is definitely in the group of difficult nail trims. We have done the training, slow introductions to nail files, treats and comforting. But she will not let anyone trim or file her nails. She has to be fully sedated at the vet for nail trims. Tried this to help manage her nails. I will say it took about a week of coaching and getting her used to the mechanism for getting treats before we added the actual file disc. It is kinda noisy when you press the button and it scared her at first. We have been using it for a couple months now with daily scoops of food and the results are okay. It’s not great if you are trying to shorten nails it’s more for maintaining length. We don’t get even filing across her nails either. Also the lid pops off somewhat easily. Pros it is helpful it does keep her nails from getting to sharp or too brittle where they might break. It is easy to clean and it keeps her busy one 1/4 scoops of kibble lasts about 10 minutes for my dog. ... show more

This is the best pet nail product and the best company. Buy it. Seriously: I’ve needed replacement parts twice (my dog is rough) and they were SO kind and lovely and easy to work with. My dog has used this for YEARS and I’m always recommending it to people. I’m going to buy another one for my other dog (one is large and one is medium sized - works for both & I’ve even tried it for cats). The quality of the product & their specific sand paper is way better than the black skateboard type that a lot of others use. It sticks on REALLY well. Cleans easily (my dog has a food that stains bc of turmeric). Doesn’t hurt their paws at all. Like buy this one or buy 5 others trying others before still going to get this one ... show more

I was at a loss for what to do for my bulldog. Drugging her didn’t even work and I was even hesitant to take her to groomers. And getting nails trimmed at the vet gets pricy fast. This is a VERY engaging tool that not only trims her nails, but keeps her mentally stimulated. She usually wolfs down her food, so this helps with so many problems! TIPS: I really took the reviews to heart and spent the first week training her and working our way up to using the feeder with the sandpaper. The top could be more secure. Sometimes my dog accidentally swipes it off and gets the kibble from the source. The suction cups are great, but they need to be applied to a clean, DRY surface. They don’t prevent the feeder from being moved, but they do help the feeder from being turned over. For this reason, give your dog a space where she can scoot the feeder, walk around it, and really have fun with it. If your dog is food aggressive, like mine, this feeder is great, and really slows down her food, but it isn’t realistic for you to sit with them the whole time, so secure the other dogs during her meal time, to prevent fights. This is a great product and the only complaint I have is that my dog is only using one paw to hit the kibble, so I can’t get the left paw as well-trimmed as the right. But this is a SMALL problem in comparison. WOULD BUY AGAIN ... show more

Good idea, but it didn’t work for us. The dog took the top cover off and chewed it, now it won’t push down to let the treats drop. We threw it out. Not a success for our 50lb dog.

    • Not for small breed dogs
Purchased this item for our 20 pound Maltese/Yorkie mix who hates to have her nails trimmed. This item is advertised to target nail filing and also as a puzzle feeder. Set up was quick and easy only taking a few seconds to assemble. Included an instruction manual that gave advice on how to walk your dog through the steps required to retrieve the food. Our dog caught on very quickly and was using independently within 24 hours. Works great as a feeder puzzle and mental stimulus for the dog, I would rate as a 5! However, there is some down sides to this feeder's use as a nail file. The coarse paper really does file down the nails but our dog only uses 1 of it's front paws to do so.... only 1 out of 4 paws gets trimmed. Also the nail files only on one side leaving her nails misshapen. (This is in no way the manufacturers fault). Where I would rate the product lower is with its quality. The suction cups do not stick to the floor so the dog pushes and shoves the feeder throughout the room during feedings. Also our 9 pound Yorkie attempted to use the feeder and his tiny nail got pinched in the trap door causing pain and now fear of the feeder. I would suggest a size recommendation with this product to not be used on small breed dogs and to improve the suction cups on the bottom. ... show more
