What a lifesaver! I have owned and cared for dogs for 30 years, never have I had one I could not trim their nails. Well, until now that is. I’ve tried the “silent” nail clippers, the “silent” dremels, I tried our vet and we were asked not to return to a groomers. THIS is real, it works! Got this for my pup who, like many of you, goes crazy at the first sign of the nail clipper. As a 75 lb rescue, the only way we stand a chance to clip his nails is under sedation, and we’ve tried everything from anti-anxiety meds to high value treats. Was definitely skeptical at first, as my pup is very strong and violent with his toys, i was worried he’d just destroy it or freak out when he felt the sensation on his nails! it’s still early so I’ll update after we’ve used for longer, but after using a few times I can’t believe the results!! He loves the stimulation of the toy and is absolutely doing a great job filing down his nails. No issues but definitely recommend going slow and teaching your pup the mechanism one piece at a time. love this product and highly recommend if you’re out of options like i was!! added a before picture, i’ll update when we’ve used it for longer! ... show more

My dog is very entertained by puzzle toys and this one is great for meal time because he eats fast! Like many of the other reviewers, he only uses one paw and that leaves the trouble of trying to find out a way to trim or file the other three.     • My dog doesn’t like to pounce on the top
I’m disappointed. It seemed a good idea to help file down my dog’s front nails. She is very smart in many ways. She learned right away to flip each of the lower flaps to get the food but she only taps the top lightly with her paw. The food is not dispensed. She weighs 12 lbs. It may be she is too small to hit it heavy enough. I’ve continued to work with her to pounce on them harder but no luck still. I should have returned it right away but I felt we might succeed.     • Great for slowing down dinner time
One of my favorite puzzles for our pup at feeding time. He loves this puzzle and I love that it helps keep his nails just a bit shorter, though most of the time he does just use his paw to hold the top down to dispense the food. Well worth the price but be prepared to wash by hand after use. Once your dog figures out how to use it they will get faster each time. But it still slows them down versus feeding food in a bowl which is nice if you have a fast eater. Overall would recommend. ... show more

So it's been about 3 weeks since we've had this and so far it's been great. There was a bit of a learning curve but our dog was able to figure it out. Now when he sees it, he knows that there are treats coming his way and gets super excited. As far as the filing feature, it does a good job. My dog showed no interest. The amount of treats that fall is large and we couldn't get him to show interest in using them. It's new, sealed in the box, just call me and I'll send it for free.

    • Works, it’s not a perfect solution but it is helpful
The media could not be loaded. My dog is definitely in the group of difficult nail trims. We have done the training, slow introductions to nail files, treats and comforting. But she will not let anyone trim or file her nails. She has to be fully sedated at the vet for nail trims. Tried this to help manage her nails. I will say it took about a week of coaching and getting her used to the mechanism for getting treats before we added the actual file disc. It is kinda noisy when you press the button and it scared her at first. We have been using it for a couple months now with daily scoops of food and the results are okay. It’s not great if you are trying to shorten nails it’s more for maintaining length. We don’t get even filing across her nails either. Also the lid pops off somewhat easily. Pros it is helpful it does keep her nails from getting to sharp or too brittle where they might break. It is easy to clean and it keeps her busy one 1/4 scoops of kibble lasts about 10 minutes for my dog. ... show more
