Years ago when my grandmother was downsizing, she gave me her cast iron stew pot. It holds slighly over a gallon of liquid and we use it all the time. The beautiful glass cover she had broken during one of our moves and the size of the pot was weird and for years we used a lid that didn't really fit so steam condensed and ran down on the stove. Every now and then I'd measure and look again. This lid looked like it just might fit. We purchased and it did fit. Not only did it fit but this top handle doesn't heat up so you can lift it off with out burning yourself or having to pull on a mitt to do it. All the household cooks love it.

The 12" lid fit perfectly, but the 10" Cuisinel lid does not fit my 10" Cuisinel pan - its too big! It sits ON the lip of the pan, rather than inside the lip, like the 12" lid did !

These lids fit our cast iron skillets perfectly. They are well made, heavy duty and surprisingly affordable. We got them in all three sizes available. I’m hoping they will offer one at 14” soon as those I can find at that size cost as much as the skillet itself.
