  • Surprisingly good
Color: Black
Really nice bike. Obviously not the nicest bike one can buy, but for the money it is pretty great. Very stable and sturdy. They coating was well done and no marring. All of tne screwholes lined up and the instructions were fairly clear and straightforward. Took about 30 minutes to assemble. The folding mechanism and adjustments are easy to manipulate, yet well built. I'm 6' 260lbs and it's comfortable for me to use. ... show more

  • Just what we were looking for
Color: Black
Our granddaughter has been going to physical therapy for juvenile arthritis and my daughter was looking for something that her daughter could use at home in addition to the PT. Most exercise bikes are too large for children (she is 9 and 4'3" tall). I did a search on Amazon and came across this one. It says it is rated for 4'4" up to 6'3" so I figured if it was too big, my daughter and her husband could use it for now. However, my granddaughter fits perfectly on the smallest settings, and she is able to use this bike without any issues. Once I decided to get this model, I ordered it directly from Caromix via Amazon. It was delivered in a matter of days and the box was in perfect shape on arrival. I uncrated everything and laid out all of the parts. I was pleasantly surprised that all of the nuts, bolts and screws were already in place. We just needed to loosen and remove them and then put them back when adding the parts to the mainframe. It was quite easy to assemble, even though the instructions were a bit difficult to read with the small print. It was so easy, that my granddaughter actually did just about everything, with me telling her where to put the parts and holding them while she attached everything. All the tools were included too. Once assembled, she couldn't wait to try it out. You can see the cardboard, instructions and tools were still out as we literally had just finished with the assembly when I took this picture. Her smile in the picture says it all. She said it was very easy to pedal for her in the easy setting. She was able to use the hand and foot resistant bands also, with no trouble at all. She said this machine is like the ones she uses at physical therapy, so I guess that means it is that good. It folds up to a standing position, with no need to lean it against something once folded. It is not something that a 9 year old can fold up but that is a good thing as it shows how sturdy it is. There are several adjustments that can be made to change the height, angle and tension, so it can be used by the entire family. They now have it in their house and my granddaughter is using it on a regular basis without being told to do so. She said it is so much fun, while giving her the physical therapy that will hopefully help her to get out of pain in the future. The positives I have to sum up are quality construction, ease of assembly, adjustable to different size users, very comfortable seat, adjustable tension, an LCD display monitor that gives a lot of information regarding the workout, very quiet operation, and an unbelievable value for what I paid for it. I have no negatives at all. I highly recommend this Caromix exercise bike. ... show more

  • Great bike, iffy electronics
Color: Dark Black
TL;DR: The bike itself is great, but the digital tracker is a bit flaky. Long form review: I'm recovering from ankle surgery and needed a stationary bike for exercise at the suggestion of my physical therapist. In addition to the low price, I chose this model based on the fact that it can convert from upright to recumbent, as I also have spine issues and was told by my doctor not to ride a standard bike. ASSEMBLY: Pretty straightforward; it took maybe an hour from opening the box to cleaning up the packaging. All parts and tools were included and nearly all the hardware was mounted in place!! as opposed to needing to sort through a bag of screws and bolts to find the right pieces. (You may find it helpful to use your own wrenches, as the ones included are flat metal and a little hard to hold onto.) Trained by IKEA :) I assembled the bike on top of a quilt to avoid scratching the hardwood and then moved it to another location for use. While it's too heavy for me to carry comfortably, there are rollers mounted under the front legs so it can easily be rolled to a different location. That's a fairly standard feature on exercise equipment, but one I appreciated. FUNCTION: I'm very happy with the bike's performance, especially given the low price. It's smooth and super quiet, much quieter than the more expensive models I owned previously, so I don't even have to use headphones to hear music or the TV while exercising. Both the angle of the unit (upright to recumbent) and the seat height/angle can be adjusted to find the right fit. I like having a back on the seat so I have some support and can keep my spine straight. The tension knob adjusts in small increments so you can very gradually raise tension rather than stepping up suddenly. The resistance bands are... okay? I do like having them there so I have the option to do something with my arms while pedaling, but at least at the angle I'm using the bike, there aren't a lot of ways to use them. Maybe in a more upright mode they would be more versatile. THE BAD: The place where the bike loses a star is the battery-operated digital tracker, which randomly starts counting time when no one is using the bike and also hallucinates pulse rates (for days it has only read mine as either 66 or 72, despite both my fitness watch and a manual count putting my pulse over 100 every time I've checked during a workout). But considering that the price of this bike was lower than a single half-hour physical therapy session, I will just use my phone timer and fitness watch instead and still be happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Excellent value for the price
Color: Dark Black
The only hitch when assembling this bike was connecting the onboard display; you'll need to dig the wires out of the frame, as they're pretty far down in the tube during shipping. Otherwise, it came together very easily and the instructions were straightforward. As for how it works: excellent. Purchased in late December, I've put over 6000 miles on this bike in 6 months, as I use it to stay active while working and doing online school. The magnetic resistance makes it incredibly quiet and is easy to adjust. Adjusting the height of the seat is also quick and simple. Having three seating positions allows for more intense or laid back pedaling as desired, and the resistance bands are surprisingly effective. Drawbacks: the drink holder is in an awkward position, and won't hold most drink vessels very securely, but as I usually have this bike beneath my standing desk, I really don't ever use the drink holder. It's also developed an occasional soft knocking noise while pedaling, but considering how many miles I've put on it, that's not unexpected and doesn't interfere with its functionality. Overall I'm incredibly pleased with it! ... show more

  • This is a VERY good bike!
Color: Black
Okay, so I have put on almost 200 miles on this thing and I am still impressed! I bought this because I am a fatty, 30 years of driving trucks will do that to you, also I had a heart attack in Sep '23. If I didn't do something about my weight and health, the next one will kill me. I wanted something low impact but still would give me a work out, so a stationary bike was a good idea. After looking around this one had really good reviews and the price was affordable. The 3 positions are all comfortable, but holding the handlebars (heart rate sensors) is just awkward in anything but the top/ highest position. The resistance is really great, I'm running at half right now. I'm not too confident on the calorie counter as I think it's just a math thing. It says I burn the exact same calories on no resistance as I do on maximum. I did a speed run for 1 mile on both settings and the answers were the same. The elastic bands do help, but are too weak for me so I took the foot loop and stretched it up to the seat for more resistance. All, in all it is an excellent starter bicycle!!! I am VERY happy with my purchase!! So, my Cardiac Rehab guy says I need to get my target heart rate (THR) up 30 to 50% higher than my resting heart rate (RHR,) which would be above 105 beats per minute (BPM) and maintain that for at least 10 minutes. It turns out that if I do my ride at the beginning of a workout session, I only hit that mark in the last 5 minutes (usually do 20-25min rides,) which really doesn't help much. If I do light stretching and a bit of weight lifting BEFORE my ride, I can get my THR up to 115-120 BPM and maintain that throughout my ride. Which is much better for my intentions, the weight loss and muscle toning will come in time but it is not my main objective. Also, I would recommend checking the screws every 50 miles or so, the bike developed a clicking in the seat and it had become a little wobbly, it was the screws... Again, I am a fatty, so I am probably stressing it more than normal. Do not over tighten them or you will strip them out, I found out the hard way. If you want to avoid this completely, go get some red Locktite/ Threadlocker from a hardware store and treat each screw as you assemble the bike. The red Locktite is permanent (you CAN bust it loose but it takes considerable effort,) blue is not. I've updated this since my initial review, which was at 100 miles. I now have almost 200 on the bike and she is still a gem! I use it 6 days a week now, but only do 15 minutes a day at the end of my exercise routine as a cool-down phase. My main cardio machine now is a vertical climber, which is a butt-kicker, but I still love my bike!!! I hope this helps. Update: 12 June 2025 Okay, so I just rolled over 1500 miles on this bicycle. She's still holding up, no failures yet! I did have to retighten a few screws and bolts, but this is a wonderful bicycle!! ... show more

  • High quality and very solid stationary bike - Updated 10/12/25
Update 10/12/25. I have been using this stationary bike since February 2024 and I wanted to provide an update. I have 780 miles on the bike and it is still working flawlessly. The seat is still comfortable and the quality and durability is excellent. I still recommend this bike and can't stress enough that it deserves a 5 star rating. End of update. First off, the price of $139.99 for the Caromix folding bike is very competitive. However, price is only a small part of what makes this bike a really good deal. I have been using this bike daily since receiving and assembling on 1/11/24 and I find it is very stable while riding, quiet, very solid, has easy to read display and is comfortable. I am really glad I chose this bike because it also has a back rest and handles next to the seat. The bike also opens to three different positions (upright to recumbent) and I have found that each position works for me so I like the flexibility of changing riding positions. It also has resistance bands for arm strengthening that I use while riding. I found assembly to be straightforward and relatively easy. It should take approximately 45 minutes maximum if you follow directions closely. I also like that all screws, bolts, nuts, etc. are already in place so all you have to do is remove them then add the component you are installing so you don't have to look through a packet of screws, bolts, nuts, etc. to figure what goes where. A screwdriver, allen wrench and wrench are included so you don't have to worry about having the tools to assemble. Once assembled the bike folds up nicely and is easy to move from point a to point b. I am 100% satisfied with the Caromix folding exercise bike and would definitely recommend it to you and I hope this review was helpful. ... show more

  • WD-40 to the Rescue Once Again !
Color: Black
This has been a great exercise bike, and I would recommend it to anyone. I have had mine for two years now, and have really enjoyed it. As advertised, it was easy to put together, and I love the very comfortable seat configuration. I have only one negative comment. The right pedal went on with out any trouble, and has worked beautifully all the time. The male end of the left pedal connection, however, would only allow me to screw the pedal on about 1/3 rd of the way. I tried everything to try and achieve a better connection, but the female side of the connection simply refused to accept any more of the pedal 's male connector. As a result, the left pedal kept coming off each time I used the bike after about 10 minutes of exercising. This was very frustrating. Then I put a little WD-40 on both the male and female portions of the pedal connection, and was immediately able to complete the connection . Haven't had any trouble with the left pedal since applying the WD-40. I never cease to be amazed at how many problems WD-40 can solve! ... show more

  • Nice exercise bike for a small space!
Color: Dark Black
Nice exercise bike, especially for a small space. Easy to assemble. Fairly smooth pedaling. Can adjust the tension. A little bit of a clicking sound when pedaling but perhaps it will resolve. I will try to adjust the front wheels for easier transport, but overall great buy!
