I had so much fun on this little scooter that my husband wanted one, too, and we ordered another. Now, we're the couple who rides our scooters around the neighborhood at sundown. The price point is excellent for the quality. It lives up to its description. It is rated for a top speed of 15.5, and that is accurate. Personally, I wouldn't want it to go any faster. Super steep hills will slow it down or stop it, but I used foot power at the top of the steepest one on our route, which exceeds its specs, maybe five push offs, and then it took over again. It is rated for pavement, but we took ours down dirt roads, too, and it did great. You never know what you're going to encounter, even on pavement, so it is nice to know it can easily go over the occasional rock, rut, divot, and dirt. The first one I purchased came fully charged, right out of the box. All it required was putting on the two handle grips, which takes about one second each. Unfold it, and off you go. The second one I purchased, however, was not fully charged, so I followed the instructions and charged it first. The charger has a light on the charger box, red means keep charging, and green means you're ready to unplug and go. It has a convenient kickstand, two systems for braking, one on the handlebar and one using your foot on the back wheel (my preferred way), and a safety mechanism for starting it that requires that you push off first. More thoughts: The scooter has a light on the front, for night time scooting. It also has a MPH indicator, gear changer (it has 3 which are controlled by the arrows), and a battery indicator. It is light enough to be transportable, yet heavy-duty. I love the blue matte color we chose for ours. Last night, we went for a 3.5 mile ride and we both used one bar on the battery indicator out of the 4 bars. That route has very steep hills. We're going to take it on a longer excursion around a lake this week, and through the town on the lake, which will give us a better idea of how many miles it gets on a relatively flat surface. I bought TWO of these scooters. I thought they’d be perfect for both of my 13 & 14 year old boys. First, neither of them had half the battery life as advertised. They’d ride around the block and neighborhood for 30 minutes, then have to come home and plug them in. They’d have a couple bars left but the power was substantially lower. Then, one son’s cuts off completely as he’s riding and it throws him off. He comes home with road rash, he plugs it in and tries it again. Couple days later, shuts off again and never comes back on. My other sons, no longer will charge. Tried both chargers. These boys rode on pavement, no hard rides, no bumps, water, dirt or anything crazy. If you’re looking at the scooters because if they don’t work, you can return them, like I did - DONT. THE SELLERS ARE NOT PROVIDING A PAID RETURN LABEL OR REFUND. They keep asking me to give it to family to friends for a $30-50 credit! A $220 scooter!!!!! If they had worked I’d love to have kept them, but now I may be stuck with them even though I thought Amazon was a sure thing. $450 wasted. ... show more

My 12 yr old saved her money to buy this and absolutely loves it. Charge holds for a long time and the charging port is super convenient when needed. Easy to put together and maintain. Perfect for the younger kids that want something but you do not want to pay a fortune.

The media could not be loaded. The shock absorber function of this scooter is not very good, and it's easy to bump your feet when it stops. I got used to it after a while. I originally intended to give it four stars, but a month after I bought it, I couldn’t charge it anymore. I had to contact customer service for repairs via email. Customer service said they would send me a new battery to replace myself. They handled my inquiries quickly and with great care, and I want to highlight the customer service. The media could not be loaded. I use my scooter as an auxiliary vehicle when driving cross country bus trips. The Caroma scooter is a great value for today's scooter market. Solid rubber tires. Goes a little faster then you could on a bicycle. 16 MPH Folds up easy. Thank you Caroma.

The media could not be loaded. I got this scooter in October and it’s December now i didn’t ride it that much till this month to get two n from work and everything was fine till now its not charging at all i left it on the charger for about 2 days now and it hasn’t charged not one bit. I charged it a fee days ago thinking I'm good to go to work on it and it died on me otw there because it did not take charge at all. Im kinda upset about it because it was very useful but now that its not charging idk what to do i would recommend it but not for long distance riding maybe like around the corner or so but just put that money in to a more expensive one so you don't have these problems ... show more

I haven’t had the scooter very long. The 28 of October will be a month and the little pedal that makes it go broke off. I spent 204.11 for this and wasn’t even worth it.
