These are now my go to pot and pan. The small pan is great for eggs, with or without butter. I actually like the eggs better with just a bit of butter. Another reviewer mentioned the handle rivets are not non-stick. True, but tilt the pan a bit and let that small bit of butter or oil coat them and it is not an issue. If you are not using butter or oil a bit of care and some soaking takes care of it. Another reviewer complained the outer bottom of the pan scratching if dragged across the stove top grate- I have been careful and not had an issue. These have replaced my 25 year old hard anodized Calphalon cookware for every day use. They heat well and evenly. I did keep the Calphalon, but prefer the non-stick. ... show more

I have a beautiful high end set of stainless steel cookware, as well as assortment of cast-iron, but sometimes a certain dish just needs that non-stick cookware solution for both ease and to reduce the need for extra butter/oil/fat. Chose these Caraway pans as I often cook for just one, and these mini versions are a great size for both functionality and storage. Appearance They arrived in a nice presentation with extra care to protect the pans, as well as the inclusion of a cleaning eraser for when the pans develop stains, which ceramic can occasionally do over time. They have a good weight to them, so they sit perfectly on the surface and don't tilt when empty (sometimes that seems to happen with cheaper skillets). They really are beautiful looking -- modern yet classy. Uses The skillet is an ideal size for cooking an egg, a single portion of meat or fish, veggies, heating up a sandwich (grilled cheese), pretty much anything that is under 8 inches across. The smaller size allows you to use just a tad of your preferred fat or oil, so you are not wasting extra to cover a larger skillet, or adding unnecessary extra fat to your diet. The "mini" sauce pan is a relatively good size for being a mini -- 6.5 inches across and 4.0 inches tall. Ideal for cooking smaller portions of rice, beans, wheat berries, soups, sauces, etc. For any dish that requires boiling water, I'm still sticking with my stainless steel. I'll probably also rely on my cast-iron for meals that go from stovetop to oven (although this ceramic would do fine there too). Cooking These pans really don't require much heat to get going -- instructions note to keep your heat at low to medium on your stovetop to avoid overheating which can wear away the non-stick coating. My first test meal was a simple egg, as I figured that would be a good test for both cooking and non-stick. Heated the pan for 90 seconds at a settling just below medium. Added a little under a TBSP of butter to the skillet, then added the egg about 60 seconds later. The egg spread out and cooked evenly and beautifully. The non-stick was perfect as the egg flipped so easily that I realized I could have used way less butter. When done, the egg slipped right out of the pan! After cooling, the pan was a breeze to clean -- took almost no effort and zero scrubbing. Potential Pros Beautiful appearance Good weight - heavier but not a beast like cast-iron. Non-stick without the chemicals Cooks evenly with good heat retention Handle stays cool during use Oven safe Clean up is a breeze Takes up less storage space Potential Cons Only good for smaller servings - go with a larger option if cooking for multiple people. Probably not the most efficient for boiling water due to the need to keep heat at lower setting. Not recommended for dishwasher (who washes their pots/pans in the dishwater?!?) Overall I'm very pleased with these pans, as they both look great and cook beautifully. As with anyone who likes to cook, you find that you typically reach for a particular pan for certain occasions, and I'm glad to add these to my rotation. ... show more

Once again, another beautiful product from Caraway. I have to admit that the price took me back a little bit for (2) mini pans, but the attention to detail, the commitment to non-toxic, non-stick cookware, and the beauty of these pans makes me feel like they are worth the price. Every item that comes from Caraway is presented beautifully upon arrival. Despite the pans being a set, they came separately and beautifully packaged. Each pan also comes with a storage bag and a cleaning eraser for tough stains, and apparently small scratches. I haven’t used this yet, but I have read other reviews that say the eraser works really well. The navy blue is deep and rich, and very pretty. The inside of the pans are gray, and equally nice. The pans are gorgeous. You definitely can set display these pans as they are very aesthetically pleasing. Both the frying pan and the mini sauce pan look to be well made. The finishes, handles, lids, and pans themselves are just really pretty and sturdy looking, and feeling. The pans have a little bit of weight to them as well. They aren’t as heavy as a cast iron pan, but not as light as other non-stick pans. The pans can be put into the oven if you like to finish off meals that way for some browning, etc. They are safe up to 550°. I use mine on my ceramic cooktop and they set nice and flat, they heat up evenly, and most importantly, they just do not stick. They recommend not using the spray oils, but you really don’t need to use any oil since everything just seems to easily slide off. I use a little butter or avocado oil when cooking with them, but I only need a tiny bit, so it also helps make cooking healthier easier. The pans are pretty small, but what I love about this mini set is that I don’t have to fight with a huge pan in the morning when I want to fry up or scramble some eggs quickly. The sauce pan has been great for making both Hollandaise sauce and Bernaise sauce. I also have a friend who has had weight loss surgery, and she said these would be great pans for someone in the WLS community since they can only eat small portions. They are very easy and convenient to use, in my opinion, because of their small sizes. These pans will need a little extra care compared to the dishwasher safe type of pans, but I do believe they will last with that extra amount of care. I love beautiful, but functional cookware, which Caraway is, so I don’t mind putting in the extra care to keep them looking beautiful and functioning as they should. Yes, they are expensive, but I do believe they are worth it and they are pans that will last quite a while. ... show more
