This portable Jump Starter is Lithium Polymer (LiPo); it is a legitimate 3000 Amps starter with 3000 peak amps. It is capable of jump starting gas engines up to 10 L jump starter for up to 10L Gas and 8L Diesel engines. Its battery capacity for jump starting and as a battery pack to recharge smaller LiIon items is 20,000 mah; better than some 5000 Amp rated jump starters. This is a very basic stripped down unit, having a fairly unfocused 400 lumen LED light and two USB output ports, and a Type C USB input charging port. It is a very good bargain at $39.99, and well worth its price. The instruction manual is confusing and misleading and needs to be patched up. The diagram shows most of the characteristics, but it doesn’t directly correspond to the actual fittings on the jumper. There is no power on button on the unit that I could find, and the only button was the one correctly identified as the LED lamp one. The real power button is on the plug-in module with the two attached jumper leads, and is identified in the manual as an “RST Forced Start Button.” The battery charge indicator consists of four tiny blue lights on the top of the jumper. As a LiPo jump starter, it has the capability of generating a large “surge” charge as opposed to a relatively stable charge for the power bank which is characteristic of LiIon batteries. LiPo batteries are expected to last for fewer total cycles and a shorter battery life than Lithium Ion Batteries (LiIon). Based on web searches, they advise fully topping off the charge before first use, and then draining the battery pack down near the bottom, and then fully recharging it. The seller advises users to recharge when the unit hits the 60% mark, and to frequently recharge to keep the unit near full charge. This seems counter to other articles I’ve read which say to keep the charge bout 60% for long term storage. I should add that you should be prepared for it to take a long time for that last blue power light to stop blinking; and this is also true of other jump starters. I used this unit to jump start both of my vehicles—a large 7.0 Liter ¾ ton crew cab pick-up which I seldom use, except for my wilderness trips to my far off-grid log cabin up north. That big truck has sat for a couple of weeks at sub freezing temperatures and usually requires one round of cranks before it catches a spark, when the weather is cold and it’s been a while since used, and longer yet since used enough to fully top off the battery. With this jump starter, it kicked in and started running after about on click. It started my 6 cylinder smaller 4WD truck just as readily after it had sat for about a week of nasty weather and snow. These two jump barely touched the power available. I subsequently used it as a power pack and recharged my satellite phones, my Iridium Go, both of its LiIon batteries, and a battery bank I keep with that unit in its carry bag. This still barely dented the power. So I recharged about a half dozen 18650 lithium ion LED light batteries, and a head lamp. Power still read between half and ¾ with the flashing blue lights while topping off the charge. My 5000 Amp LiPo jump starter did not do as well as this 3,000 Amp one. The one test I was unable to perform on this was its ability to jump start a severely depleted battery, but I have no doubt it will fare well at that. My assessment of this jump starter is: buy it ASAP; it is great insurance during the very cold spells and you will not find another jump starter this good for anywhere near the bargain price of this one. I give this a solid 5 stars and recommend it strongly.

I haven't tested it on a dead battery yet (which is the most important test right? However I got this just for emergency situations so if I'm never in that emergency, I'm ok with that situation as well. Otherwise testing this for voltage and stuff on a working battery everything seems great. Basically it's just a power bank that gives you enough oomph to start the car. Now the manual says it can jump you car 60 times?! How in the world could that be accurate, unless they mean that after 60 times then you should dispose of it, that might make more sense. Otherwise I can't see using this more than a time or two before wanting to recharge it, but I might be way off (hopefully that is true!). Build quality of the actual power bank is ok, nothing amazing. Plastic feels a little cheap, a rubberized coating or soft feel would make the build quality feel a lot better, but that's only a minor thing. The build quality of the clamps and plug are significantly better than the plastic feel of the power bank itself. The carrying case is exceptionally nice! Much better than anything I would have expected for this price range. For the money, it's hard to go wrong as this is a really nice unit.

I am one of those guys that carry battery jumper pack and a good set of jumper cables. Jumper cables are a sure thing. You know you have juice because the other car is next to yours running. But cables are a pain. You need that other car and you need that other car close to yours so your cables reach. These car jump battery packs are easy to use and will jump your car if and I mean IF you keep the pack charged and ready for when you need it. The biggest problem I have is I toss it in the car and two years later when I need it, it does not have the charge to jump the car. So, If you can remember to use it and charge it every six months or so, these things are fantastic. If you are like me and can't remember to charge it if it is in the car, I still find the units very handy but I keep mine in the house where I see it and remember to check on it every now and then. Here are my thoughts on this unit: PROS: 1) It does work and works well. 2) It is a little slow charging the unit up but having it charge through a USB C plug is convenient and easy. Just plug it in to your phone charger and it will slowly charge up. Certainly beats trying to keep track of yet another special charger. 3) It does have a couple of USB output ports so you can charge a phone or other small device with the battery pack. A little more versatile than just be a car jumper! 4) The hard case that holds everything is nice. The case has a Velcro cover that holds the battery in place and padding to help keep the jumper safe. CONS: 1) The attachments are in a mesh pocket so when you open the case the parts have a tendency to fall out. When you need it you typically do not have a nice flat table to open the unit so the lid flops open allowing gravity to cause all your attachments to hit the dirt. I wish it had a zipper or other way of holding these parts in place. CONCLUSION: Just like jumper cables, just about everyone should have a jump starter battery pack with them. They are just to easy and convenient to not have one with you. If you do purchase a unit, this one works well and should last, if you remember to keep the unit charged properly.
