Great printer, good copier/scanner

I bought this for my wife while she was working from home during the pandemic. It's become the main printer used in the house now. It prints and copies well and quickly. It works well whether printing or scanning from a PC or our phones. Duplex printing and auto-duplex scanning/copying is very nice. The scanner quality is more than sufficient for documents, and it's "okay" for photos, but I would not consider it a photo-quality scanner. I'll use this one anytime I'm scanning a document, but on the rare occasion (nowadays) where I want to scan a photo, my old Canon MX922's scanner is much better....Slower, but better. This one just doesn't have the color accuracy that the Canon does, but for what it's designed for (small or home offices), it's a great product.

Loved the Printer, but caution with AMAZON

I purchased the printer April 15, 2023 and loved it so much. Past tense because I purchased Genuine Canon toner from Amazon which turned out to be fraudulent and it over heated the printer causing the paper feeding wheel rubber to disintegrate and crumble inside the printer as well as toner sprayed inside printer. Warranty is void if you place a non-canon toner, so also my warranty is Voided. Absolutely would purchase again, but, I would not purchase toner of any kind from AMAZON it does not clearly show who sells the toner (though it was Elit toner), but Amazon shows under the price visit canon store, so I thought it was sold by Canon as some companies do sell their products on this page. It also stated Genuine Canon and did not list it as not only a counterfeit cartridge, but also refurbished. I wrote a review and AMAZON struck through my review and said they Fulfilled the order so they take responsibility for the Fulfillment and that is unequivocally untrue. They said my printer is out the 30 day window, therefore I can't take it back and they fail to recognize, it was an issue with the fraudulent product that I purchased from he site that ruined the lovely printer.

This replaced an older version of this printer from 14 years ago. Set up was easy and I love the features this printer has. I love that I can scan and print from my phone. The only thing is it sometimes drops the print job midway through printing. Could it be a wireless network issue. I don’t know. But it works great otherwise.

Poor customer service

I was so happy to receive this printer. For one year it printed as it should. One month later, and a month after the warranty period it would not power up. I did everything to make it power it up but it wouldn't power up. I tried to contact HP but they wouldn't speak with me. They would only suggest their virtual assistant. I listened to their virtual assistant and did everything they said to do with no results. HP will not even speak with me concerning this matter because of the 1 month expiration. I have since been forced to purchase a new printer (Canon) and hopefully will be happy with my decision in purchasing Canon. I've been an HP consumer for years but feel forced to go with another company I hear good things about. I'm hoping that Canon will at least receive my phone call if I have an issue 1 month past the warranty period.

Don't buy if you have a Linux O.S.

I was happy with this printer until I bought a laptop with a Linux O.S. I can't get the printer to print now. It keeps telling me there is no paper when there is. Tried downloading the driver per the Canon website. Still won't work. Very frustrated with Canon. Their customer service can't help me.

Quite Deceptive

When it says "yields up to 8000 page" the operative words are "up to". Between both cartridges I've managed to print around 2900 pages. I'll be generous and allow for the fact that maybe it's implied "single-sided pages" and I've been printing duplex for the majority of my print jobs, that's still only 6800 pages and I am at 20% on the last cartridge. There's maybe another 100 - 200 pages I can print before the print quality dips but that's 1000 pages that I'm missing out on. Also, beware: I and at least one other person who tried to register the product for support got messages saying there's a device/serial number mismatch or the printer wasn't meant for this region and isn't able to be supported. I tried again and got it to work but for those less intrepid who see that message and just give up, it would be infuriating to pay $300 for a printer only to find out you can't get help with it because (seemingly arbitrarily) the printer was meant for sale in another country. As with any buying any printer, since it's all a racket anyway: caveat emptor.
