I researched and bought this printer after my old one(Brother 4yrs) decided to not want to connect to the internet and eventually wouldn’t turn on due to over use of the power button to reset it to get it to connect to the internet. The printer came 6 days faster than what the ETA said for the delivery, which was Awesome!! Out of the box installation took literally 10-15 minutes. I tested it with my iPhone and the first printed page looked great. That was wireless printing. My wife has a Mac computer and the installation took a little bit more time for her. We had to download the software from the website and then get it added to her computer. It took a little longer to actually print anything from her computer, but it did. I’m hoping that it was just slow from the initial startup and that it will be faster after being setup. I tried Canon because my experience with others had left me disappointed. Thus far I am satisfied. Another note I liked about Canon is that their IT support is 100% US based. So, you don’t get someone you can’t understand from an exotic island speaking who knows what, trying to help you troubleshoot. :) ... show more

    • SUPER easy to install. Excellent and very FAST printing
Pretty much "Plug and play". Easy to find and download the driver etc online at the Cannon site. Easy to unbox, set up and install. Operating panel on front of unit is intuitive. Makes GREAT scans and prints, FAST! Only been working with it a week or so now but have put it through some heavy paces. Not a glitch! Unlike color inkjet with its expensive ink and SOMETHING going wrong almost daily with most of them, laser blk and white printer is THE printer to get for homeschooling and THIS one is the one to get! It's so intuitive to operate my young grandaughter was scanning and printing like a pro inside 5 minutes on the thing. And will be doing her own daily printing of homeschool worksheets. (wink) It comes very solidly packaged for mailing, and arrived earlier than stated. If there is no update on this review, it means it's still going strong. ... show more

    • Great Laser printer
I looked at a lot of black and white laser printers, a lot. Like all of them. And the trick to getting a good printers is one that is dependable and the toner carts are cheap to buy and print lots of sheets per toner. So to do this, look for a good printer you like with good reviews then before buying, look up that printers toners to see what it costs, plus the number of sheets it makes per toner. There is lots out there and most of them have over priced toners. I was about to give up when I finally came to this printer and found what I had been long looking for. The price wasn't bad and the reviews were good and the toner was about as good as it gets. So I placed my order and it arrived within the week undamaged and opened the box and set it up. I didn't have any problems with the driver it self installed and I did a test print, worked great. ... show more

Bought this for my home office. Even though it is a bit bulky, it works well other than it fights with windows 11 and doesn't want to connect to the PC. As far as the useability, it is easy to use and the quality is great.

    • Horrible set up
I've had this thing for 3 years. Never got the scanner to work. Barely got the printer to work. The "model" is never on any Canon site to look up instructions or troubleshooting. Can't find the driver online or in any computer I've used. I will never buy a Canon printer again. I bought this thing for the scanner and gotten to scan two things because it mysteriously set it itself up on my OLD Windows 10 laptop. Well great - now I use the Windows 11 laptop all the time.     • Great if you are an occasional printer
I've had ink jets. I don't need to print a lot, ink jets dry up while you are not using them. So every time I needed to randomly print something, it was a chore because I was "low on cyan" even if it was a black and white document. I've bought this printer and have had everything I needed to print do so immediately without any hassle. It scans pretty well too, although is a little quirky, but also don't do that often. If you need to do a lot of printing I don't know, but if you're tired of buying ink to replace dried up ink you never used to print a black and white document you may be happy like me. ... show more

When I moved out of state I didn’t have room for my expensive printers in the moving truck. I have Ricoh and Tektronix printers that cost thousands. I needed one right away to do a quick job and looked for a inexpensive printer and seen this one. This is a low cost laser printer that works well. Print directly from your cellphone without using a router is great. Network it from a desktop computer too, it’s all good. Works fast, pretty clear, sleep mode is fine. Tho my others are color lasers this one was able to do my job in B&W. I’ve no complaints, copy’s scans quick it simply works. For the price you can’t go wrong. No expensive inks !     • Very easy to set up
Very easy to set up, connected to WiFi after couple of trials and it finally connected easily. The printing was good but was slightly faded, had to increase the density higher to get better text reading. Not sure if it was because it was brand new or what. Like the sleeping mode, and it really prints very fast. One thing I also like is I was able to print directly from a Chromebook, which was not possible with a previous Canon and HP printers. Overall very satisfied and well worth the money spent. Price was very reasonable and expect to save a bundle from being free from expensive inkjet cartridges.
