This is a nice line of quality cookware. It’s made well. It will dent if you drop it from the countertop. It will scratch, so only use plastic or wood utensils and can only be hand washed. It’s kind of a less expensive version of cast iron and not so heavy.

I've ordered this twice, from 2 different sellers, and I give up! Every time, the lid is dinged/scratched a lot and the inside bottom of the pot has weird areas that you just know are going to be a problem with the longevity of the non-stick. I know these are discontinued and I think that what I am ordering is either seconds or ones picked up at TJ Maxx or someplace that didn't sell other places. I also do NOT like how Calphalon sells some of their cookware not in a box. Makes for tough shipping! I read a comment that someone called Calphalon and they said they do not sell anything not in a box and that is just not true. You can go to Target at any time and buy their Select by Calphalon 5 qt and it is not in a box. I am going to try Tri Ply Clad Stainless and maybe keep the Select by Calphalon, which isn't as thick and heavy as this Contemporary, but I'll have options. They also need to stop making so many pieces of cookware that have that induction base! Can scratch glass tops and not that many people have induction at this point! It's been a challenge to find a simple 5 qt pot with lid, which is why I had hoped this one would work. ... show more
