The On/Off Cync Smart Plug makes any lamp or device that plugs into a wall outlet smart. The built-in WiFi bridge adds out-of-home control for your lighting and devices and voice control when paired with a voice assistant. This smart plug is Matter Compatible meaning that it can connect directly to leading smart home apps such as, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Samsung SmartThings, and Apple Home for hands-free voice control. The plug also enables scheduling and scene setting to traditional bulbs and devices. The Smart Plug adds smart functionality to fixtures where smart bulbs won't fit or match the look of the fixture. Pair the Smart Plug with Cync Smart Bulbs in other fixtures and Cync Smart Switches to control all your lights together. I installed several C by GE lights a year or so ago and connected them to Google Home which worked fine... for a while. Then one day.... they stopped connecting for more than a day or so before getting lost. Read you needed a C by GE device which acts as a bridge. (Why this suddenly became a requirement? who knows..) Anyway after resetting the lights and connecting them to the C by GE (Cync) App and moving them back to google home, I have had no issues. ... show more

Absolutely love these new products by GE! Started off with a single full color bulb found on sale at Lowe's and then immediately spent another 400 to outfit the whole apartment with four switches and plugs and a motion detector in the stairs. Pairing them to the app is seamless (be sure to update firmware before moving on to your voice assistant of choice). I happen to be using them in coordination with five echo devices, one in every room and once you add C by GE as a skill in your Alexa app it will detect all your devices without issue. You can set up groups and routines to your hearts content like "set the mood" to turn on accent lamps in certain rooms, activate space heaters or adjust the thermostat all in a single phrase! I only had one smart plug that for some reason will not turn on the first time you ask it to, it always does the second time however. I've updated the firmware and have concluded I may have got one bunk one out of the bunch that is a little wonky but it was ten bucks and is SO not a deal breaker. ... show more

Works as expected. I love the option for seamless integration with google home. Set up was a little confusing but that may of been on me as I did not read the instructions and ended up having to reset to the factor setting. there is an option to connect it to the GE app but I would advise against this because My friends nor I have been able to figure out how to use it with google home once it’s connected to the GE app (and I’ve tried connecting my google and GE acct). What I like about them they're small compact I replaced all my wemo plugs with these. When will plugs compared to these well let's just say they work way better. Wemo smart plugs have a tendency to go offline they don't update they don't show up they don't respond. These GE smart plugs work fabulous. I'm very pleased with the product they don't go offline and do all the crazy stuff that WeMo smart plug did. I would not recommend wemo smart plugs. I have older versions and newer versions and they still suck. Set up as a breeze compared to the wemo. so if you're looking for a simple to use easy to set up I would definitely get the GE smart plug. I've had a couple other off-brand smart plugs they just don't work that great. I have a Google ecosystem in my home I do have Alexa but I mainly only use Google products. Or products that are native to Google home. The GE the lineup is definitely more native to Google. You're able to set up these plugs in the Google home app but I set them up in the GE app but the automatically go into your Google home. So in the past month I will have bought eight of these. I just recently purchased their smart light color I'm very pleased with that as well. I have bought in about nine of those light strips. I am fully invested into the Philips hue as well. My whole home is covered in smart home lights and honestly I think for the money GE has just as good lights as Phillips. But this isn't about the lights this is about the smart plug I would definitely recommend GE smart products any day. ... show more

    • Skip these plugs
Using the Cync App to install the plug then having to go to Alexa to add it to devices is too much work. Then the Wi-Fi gets dropped on Cync and you have to go through these steps again. Stick to the Amazon smart plug. It is all done directly on the Alexa app. I used these plugs for my table lamps throughout my home. ... show more

    • Close but no cigar... well, it just needs to be close
I’m still trying to decide if I need to return both of the items. Setup went fine for both. I added to the C by GE app and enabled the Alexa skill and things were fine for a few hours. Then could only control through C br GE but Alexa said it was offline. Deleted both devices from both apps and could not get one to initialize in C by GE. Got support on phone and was told to turn Bluetooth off and back on. That worked bit got disconnected from support for some reason. I added both devices into both apps. Again worked for a few hours... Deleted all again and re-added without changing device’s default names. Worked fir 24 before I tried to rename. After 18 hours both the renamed and default named devices still work with both apps... If they drop again, I will be returning as defective... Update: I figured out the issue... the C by GE app uses Bluetooth and Alexa uses wifi. C by GE always worked anywhere in my house, even 60’ away. They say the device must be within 40’ of wifi bit I found that even with a very strong wifi coverage at my house, 20-25’ was as far away as I could put the devices. I was able to swap 2 other brand devices and they work where these don’t.     • Excellent LEDs with Multiple Uses!
These are fantastic LED bulbs that are sure to please! With it’s the infinite number of colors possible, one can create just the right mood for the time of day. They are easy to install and easy to set up. All one needs to do is screw them into a normal socket, and they are ready to be programmed with one’s iPhone (or other cell phone). One create many different scenes for different times of the day. Moreover, one can automate these scenes as well. If one needs to change a bulb’s function, an easy process exists for reprogramming it using an on-and-off procedure that is easy to understand and to complete. These bulbs are not only fun, but the are highly functional as well. I appreciate the extremely bright (daylight white) light for reading and the subdued or soft colors for relaxing or watching movies. You will be surprised at how much the color of the light can affect your ability to fall asleep. ... show more
