    • Works Incredibly Well and Easy to Setup!
I bought this for my 1.5hp Red Lion sprinkler pump. It was incredibly easy to setup and install. I think I installed in in less than 10 minutes, including app setup. I know set our sprinkler system to turn on and off every day at specific times and our grass looks great. What was good to know for me, is our Wi-Fi router is ~100 feet away from the device and I have a strong connection to it. It has yet to connect to the Wi-Fi and turn on and off as needed.     • Secret connection method
I spent hours trying to install the wifi. I have an Orbi WiFi system and spent hours trying to get it to broadcast on 2.4. I tried everything possible from telenet to walking half a mile from house. There was a review saying to connect manually. I could not find a way to do it. In very small blue letters there is a link to connect manually. It is not in the instructions and without perfect eyesight difficult to see. Once I found the instructions I had it connected in minutes. They really should re-write the instructions and make the manual connection a box in the options. Once I got connected it was also connected to Alexa. It was very easy to schedule. I’m ordering another one so I can control my pool heater separately from the pump. The unit gets a 5 star but the instructions get 1/2 star. Even getting to the unit settings was more difficult than it should be because of the instructions. Again not hard but the instructions don’t mention how to get to settings. Now that you know the secret method you will have no trouble setting it up. UPDATE I bought a second unit which came with instructions. The first one did not have the instructions and I had a hard time setting it up. This one set itself up. Put in the network info and it found the wifi immediately. With instructions I give it 5 stars. I think the first unit was a return because I had to use an impact driver to get the lugs loose and no instructions. I hooked one up to my pool pump and the second one to the heater. The pump is scheduled for everyday while I turn the heater on when I need it. They work great together. ... show more

Worked perfect on my 2hp pool pump. Replaced the old mechanical style. Very easy to setup. The app is a little weak, but gets the pump on and off after playing with it a few days.

    • Good Components - Horrible Enclosure

I had been looking for a "smart" pool timer for some time and this one seemed to check all the boxes - it was affordable and had decent reviews. And when I installed it - the components inside work well! Smart phone app is decent and Alexa works, so no complaints there. The relay and smart hub work well and consistently - the enclosure they come in is terrible. The other reviews have a nice weather tight enclosure that is appropriate size. The one I received was not weather tight (no gasket on the door, and the bottom is completely open, just stuffed with foam to "seal" it - but no way it is NEMA outdoor use rated. I ended up taking the components out of the huge enclosure provided and moving them to the enclosure my old timer was in - you can see the size difference in the picture. It does work well, but the new enclosure is huge and would not protect the sensitive internal components from rain or weather. If they go back to the old enclosure other people show in their review it would 5 stars no problem. Also - wiring is super easy. It comes with an indoor connection to connect the module to Wi-Fi before moving outside and then when you wire it up its just two hots in from your breaker and two hots out to your pump/device. ... show more

    • Works perfect but a couple of install tricks needed
I used this to get my 240v water heater to work with Alexa. Would be a 5 outta 5 rating except they only provide one provision for running your wires which makes no sense because you'll need to have wires going in and wires going out. Therefore, you will need to add a hole and connector for the additional set of wires you need to run. Also, in order to get the wifi to connect I had to go through the manual process. The simpler method described in the manual did not work for me. Still not difficult but I wasted about 5-10mins trying to get the simpler system to work before giving up and using the manual instructions. Besides those two items, it works great. Solid wifi connection that reconnects with no issues if power or internet goes down. Just note that it does have a pretty loud "POP" when you turn on and that is completely normal. Definitely want this in your garage or somewhere outside. ... show more

This product for the value is cheap and perfect to operate your pool, or Koi or swim pond pumps. Easy to install and runs on 110 or 220 volts. You can set an on and off schedule or to run a certain amount of time and then shut off. Easy to connect to Wi-Fi but I used the eWeLink app to run this controller. Package arrived with normal quickness during the pandemic. I purchased it to replace the old timer switch box so we could have more control over the pool pump and save some money on electricity while also running the pool pump more frequently during the day. I used 1/4” masonry red heads to mount the box to the side of the house and that was painless. The box is there until we want to take it down. I labeled the existing wires and the change over was smooth and easy. Powered on and worked; manual on/off was exactly as it states. Pairing to the mesh network was not smooth at first but I saw an option to do a manual pairing by WiFi connecting to my device directly and that worked perfectly. Add the skill to Alexa for eWelink and then its all done; that took all of a minute. We were looking for a solution like this for our old school pool pump and this fits the need perfectly. Still have to do the manual backwash but its still light years better than it was. The materials seem like they will last outdoors, I highly recommend the product. ** The instructions and leaflet/manual were poorly written grammatically but the points are understandable. ... show more
