No programming necessary. Just plug into receptacle, plug appliance into the unit and operate with the corresponding number on one of the two remotes. Easy Peezy!

We have been using these remote control outlets for about 6 months and are very happy with them. Have had no issues. They are super easy to use, each one in the kit is already mated to a button on the remote, so plug something into it and turn it off/on remotely, that simple. The wife had hanging lights on our screen porch she would plug in at night, very pretty but a pain to shut off late at night before bed, especially when cold outside. I put one of these on her lights and gave her the remote and she seemed pleased, I certainly was when turning them off at night. Next thing I know, there are plant lights in the house plugged into another one of these, so fair to say that her buy in on this was high. She even gave one of the remotes and the other outlets to her mom to try, she loves them too. I would definitely order these again and will when I have another need for a very simple easy to use remote control outlet, for whatever.

Love these outlets! Comes with 2 remote controllers and 5 single outles. Easy to use and a pleasure to hook up xmas lights and lamps and putting lights (on and off) with the remote as soon as you walk in! And at nite before bed ..one click..and off! Love these!! Will buy more!!

I used the earlier model from this 'brand', still in use, and they were dogs, make sur e you buy the "uprgraded" model. I have a fairly large house and these will actuate the lights in the garage all the way from my Master Bedroom which is four large rooms with walls away. Recommend these especially for the price. Not an attempt to brag but only to qualify my assessment, but I have been a logic and control design Electrical Engineer for many years and I wouldn't think of taking the time to design this very simple device set when I can buy it for this price. The first model had a lot of problems with directional control, these don't. Again, I can only speak for one set that I have so I would recomment reading a good sample of all ratings before you decide on any purchase.
