  • They Work!
Style: Mini 4-Pack
After buying and returning another product that would not connect to my wifi, I got this set. This one was completely different from the other product and was pretty easy to set up. I was able to connect all 4 devices to my internet and to my Alex devices. It may be my internet that is the issue, but the Kasa app you have to download to use these plugs was a plus for me. It helped me connect the devices to my Wifi, and then once they were connected to Wifi, they easily appeared in my Alexa App. Overall, I'm very happy with these. They work, I'm able to rename them to what I want, I can set up a timer for each one both in Alex and on the Kasa app, and turn them on/off from either app. ... show more

  • The best alarm clock and adhd helper
Style: Mini 4-Pack
I kept forgetting to turn my daylight lamps off and bought these to help. An unexpected bonus has been that they have been the best alarm clock for me. I'm the kind of person who can sleep through any sound in the morning. But when these kick on my lights, it's much easier to get up! Also super helpful for turning the fan off in the morning so I don't avoid getting out of bed because im chilly. And no more having daylight lamps on far into the evening and messing with my sleep schedule! Truly, great little devices! The set up was really easy and I haven't had connectivity issues, but I only use the app and the routines. Can't wait to try more from Kasa. ... show more

  • Great Customer Support
Style: Apple HomeKit 4-Pack
I bought a a pack of four last November and finally got to final outlet. For some reason, I could not get the outlet to complete the setup with my HomeKit. I was truly convinced that it was defective. The other three was setup fairly easily. I decided to contact Kasa support on their website. I sent them an email and within hours, Mar and Shakessa reached out to me and gave me instructions. Most of them I had already accomplished prior to reaching out to them, but one of the steps I didn't even think of doing. Worked like a charm. Thanks to Mar and Shakessa and their responsive service I was able to continue with home my automations. ps. If any of you have issues with setup, try using a different device. Instead of using my iPhone to complete the setup, I used my iPad. ... show more

  • Works great, easy to control & schedule
Style: Mini 4-Pack
I bought these after reading an article claiming you could set one up to schedule resetting an internet gateway. That absolutely does not work, since they rely on WiFi. If you schedule it to turn off, the WiFi connection is severed, so it won't turn on again unless manually. I knew better; I would have trusted my instinct. That aside, I love these. I've plugged in a couple of commonly forgotten "on" lamps & have already used the scheduling feature as well as the app for manual control. I'm already planning to buy another set, as well as more items that can be controlled from the same app. I don't know how I lived without it lol. These also work with the Google home app and are "hey Google" compliant. Good stuff. I recommend them to you too! ... show more

  • Great product but directions flawed
Style: Mini 4-Pack
I have 4 of these and they work great! They have schedules, timers and an on/off feature that can be used at any time. The wifi range is very good! When setting these up, after you download the app on your phone, set up an account and plug in one of the smart plugs, goto your phone's wifi connection and select the TPLink plug. Then your phone can talk to the plug and set it up. This is not made clear in the instructions. Then the app will have you put your phone back on your home wifi. This is a good product and I intend on buying more of these smart plugs. ... show more

  • These plugs are ok, depending on what you want to do
Style: Apple HomeKit 4-Pack
I recently had my house wired for a generator. I wanted to get a realistic idea of what each of my electrical devices draws, so I figured I'd get these plugs and let them run for awhile. One thing I was curious about was how often things like a refrigerator or freezer cycle on and off. I put one of these plugs on my refrigerator but found that the control unit that monitors temp etc draws enough power to make the plug think it's on all the time (any measurable amount of power shows as "on", even under .1 watts). It will show different amounts of power being drawn if I look at the app in real time, but according to the kasa app it runs 24 hrs a day. I was hoping for possibly a way to graph the power consumption so I could get an idea of how often it cycles on, and for how long, but no such luck. It turns out I have the same issue with a washing machine and tv (but not the dryer, it shuts completely off). So, if you want to watch power consumption in real time and see how much power has been used in a 24 hr, 7 day, or 30 day period you're good to go with these. If you want to see how long something had been running or any more detailed info you'll need something else. They still work fine for remote control, scheduled events, etc. Since they each report back to the kasa server (very frequently, 500+ times a day....) it seems like, with a little tweaking of the app, there could be a user defined threshold of what constitutes the "on" state (maybe over a watt or two). You could set an alert for a change in state (pump comes on, something unexpectedly turns off, etc). This would also be handy to set an alarm for an excessively high consumption rate as well (or maybe a total power used in a time period). An alert for total power cycles would be handy from a maintenance perspective too. Anyway, lots of possibilities with a little work on the app. So, if you want remote controlled plugs (with scheduling etc) that will give you an overall idea of how much power the device is consuming, these will work well. If you want more data look elsewhere. ... show more
