UPDATE June 16, 2018 I forgot to follow up. I have changed my rating from 2 stars up to 4, the initial wait time has to take a star. The table no longer smells and now I can say I love it. The stink lasted probably a total of 6-7 weeks and gradually got better over that time. I wasn't sure if it would ever "completely" go away. INITIAL REVIEW February 2018 This table was drop shipped direct from Ashley Furniture. The table in itself is really nice and well made, it works well with my other furniture, has a big drawer and handy power features. Problem is, this End Table STINKS REALLY REALLY BAD! After having this for 4 days the stain still smells wet. If you touch the table anywhere, your hand will smell. Remote controls, phones, eyeglasses, water bottles, paper or anything you put on it smells like the stain. After the initial punch in the face when opening the box, I put it outside for 8 hours to dry, breathe and/or air out. I brought it back in and now my house smells a bit less. The table needed about 3 days to stop smelling up the house, however, as I sit near the table now, I still smell it. This would get 5 stars. But this smell...wow. ... show more

The table is fine in itself but a month later it still reeks like chemicals. It literally made the whole living room smell for over a week and now when you open the drawer it stinks. I bought the larger coffee table from this line earlier this year and did not have this problem.

Love this table! The lift top and large drawer storage are an added bonus. Was packaged extremely well and only needed the legs put on to finish assembly. Super easy and came with everything you need to get it done. Only complaint with this has been the SMELL. It has an extremely strong chemical smell to it that has only dissipated slightly in the first few days. I've resorted to putting packs of coffee grounds in the drawers to help it dissipate it further. I may even put it outside for a few hours to potentially speed up the process of airing it out faster. So I received the product damaged, like no fixes damaged. The seller was amazing!!! First they tried to get it replaced by manufacturer, they were unable to do so, they then tried other ways to get me the item without success. After about 7 days of back and forth emails they refunded me with no problems. The product itself is gorgeous, it's heavy duty and quality. This wasn't intended for my living room and I bought it for my new refrigerator size computer...LOL. It is sturdy and it has a lightning fast USB charger and an electrical outlet at the back, so my computer is happy and I am pretty much happier with it and looks pretty good.
