UPDATE: Support was persistent and showed me how to use Scenes to setup the same thing I wanted. Worked like a charm. App is really clean and pretty intuitive too. Bought one of these to use to turn a lamp on an off in my living room. It has a feature to use Sunset as a timer, allowing you to set any number of minutes in advance of sundown to turn on (same feature with Sunrise). The one I purchased worked so well I purchased another. That's when things fell apart. When I setup the second one, it wouldn't allow an offset from Sunset to be set. Not only that, but once I added the new smart plug, the first one no longer had that feature. Could only set them to turn on at Sunset. Well, after several emails to support (halfway around the world so email was only way for support), they decided to send me 2 new ones. They were very apologetic and wanted to make things right. Well, the 2 new ones - the first one wouldn't allow to activate Sunset setting at all because it couldn't access location data from my phone (though it was setup to and the original one I had still did so I know it was working). So that replacement was a fail. Then the second replacement didn't even have the menu option to go into the settings for Sunset. Completely missing.

I had some trouble getting it connected or "seen" by my WiFi network but eventually got it to work. I wish it worke like the Alexa product (voice commands) but nonetheless it's a great product for the electronic items that don't have Alexa capability built in. You'll have to control the device through the Alexa app (phone). And most of the features of the electronic device might not work as this plug is used more like an on/off capability. To be more plain, this plug is discoverable by your WiFi network, and so then you can use the Alexa app (phone) or perhaps an Echo Dot (voice command) to turn on/off your electronic device, but you may not be able to utilize all the feature of your connect device unless the Alexa device it self can manage those features (in app).

Unfortunately not compatible with my 3rd party controller, but the app is fantastic and pairing is a breeze. In the winter we used it to cycle a heater on a schedule and my partner uses it to cycle power on a wax pot that can only be shut off by unplugging the cable.
