Not very think but it’s everything it says it is. It is 2 pieces so if you have a plank broken right in the middle of the bed like I do, it still will bend at that break point. Buy I just Turned it the other way and doubled them up and it just does not reach all the way to top or bottom which is fine because that’s not where pressure is anyway.

If your mattress is resting on a few slats only you need this board. I developed a bad backache there was no injury and im in good shape at age 71. Could not figure it out until I kept reading about posture especially while sleeping. More research and I realized I was probably sleeping on a saggy mattress. This bunkie board has made a huge difference, I could feel it immediately. No need to buy and cut more slats, this board did it.

This board (set of boards, actually) just did not work on any of my queen beds. It may be fine with the correct frame, which my beds did not have. To work adequately the bed needs to have cross slats that are spaced a foot or less apart. Of course, once that is the situation, the need for the bunkie board decreases. The important thing to understand with this board is that each of the 8 individual boards making up the package must have support at both ends. The material holding the bunkie boards together does not provide enough support for the adjacent boards and there is no connection at all between the two (foot and head) pieces making up the whole. My bed has 3 cross slats which are fine for a regular box spring but left this bunkie board sagging in many locations. This was not quite as obvious when it was first placed, but became very notable when some weight was applied to the mattress.
