This is a great rollable bamboo support mat that I am using with a queen size bed(KD Frames foldable queen bed) which has slats that are 4 inches apart. So far I was using two Ikea mattress toppers (2 and 3/8 inch thick each) placed on the slatted bed base and they were fine with minimal sagging, but I had been thinking about adding little bit more support to the base. Once, I placed the bamboo pad, I found that I could get away with just one mattress topper. I had originally bought the mattress toppers because these are something I could move by myself. Also, I personally prefer a firm base for sleeping. At the moment, I have kept both of the toppers in place and now there is more than enough support. The key factor for me was that the bamboo pad has spacing between the individual bamboo slats, which in turn helps with air circulation near the base of the mattress. I am not anticipating any mold, but it is something to keep in mind in humid locations. The slats are about 1 inch wide and give enough strength to the overall bamboo base. I like that the base pad is made of bamboo, a naturally occurring material, and has no paint or varnish, so there is no offgassing of chemicals or paints in this product. It is also easy to roll, although I don't foreseee a reason to move this item. But this is certainly a consideration for people who may be looking for a portable solution, because this bamboo pad can be moved by one person. The only negative I see are that some of the slats are curved upwards(see the phots), and I am not sure if this will be an issue long term or perhaps that is natural with bamboo and these will flatten over time with the weight of the mattress. And finally, my recommendation to the manufacturer is to change their packaging of the bamboo mat to where the black strap side is on the outside. I received the item in a rolled form just as it is shown in the last product image, and with this set up it cannot be rolled out in the way that it is shown in the installation video. ... show more

I purchased this Bunkie Board after over two years of research. When I removed it from its packaging I noticed it was excellent quality. I particularly love that real bamboo smell I get with other quality bamboo products. As pictured, I have a metal queen sized bed frame. The slats in the metal frame are too far apart when making the bed, trying to tuck the top sheet and blanket underneath, it would become a chore to get it from dragging on the floor. With this product, problem solved. Since, I was alone when putting the mattress back on the frame, I had to end up installing it by the foot of the bed. Trying to put the mattress back on from the side resulted in the slats moving. Very happy with my purchase! ... show more
