    • I love this clock
I love this clock; just what I wanted. I would rate it down a bit, maybe a 4.5 if I could, because the directions were a bit difficult to follow. However, if you are a logical, patient person who enjoys a bit of a challenge, you will be fine. This sweet clock keeps perfect time and the chimes are deep and pretty for a small clock. I like that there is a pendulum, even though it's just decorative. The most difficult part was the necessity to give the pendulum a slight swing to get it started; really that's a two person job. You can't stand the clock up on a flat surface because of the decorative piece on the bottom. So I took the back off, propped the clock on a counter (with the decorative piece extending over the counter) with the clock facing away from me, gave the pendulum a swing and it started right away. Then, I couldn't lay the clock down (that would stop the pendulum) and awkwardly held the clock upright with the decorative piece on the edge of the counter so the clock could stay upright. Then, I had to screw the back on again, really a two person job. I held the clock upright using my chin. Anywho, it worked, and now it's just the right clock. Update: June 7, 2017 - the chimes began donging 1 number less than the hour time about 2 weeks ago. Now, the chimes are completely random and not connected with time at all. Each hour gets a random number of dongs from 1-12. I've contacted customer support (212 497 1864). I hope they can help as I really like this clock. ... show more

    • Perfect for small wall area that needs a standout item.
Clock was just what I wanted. Beautiful even close up, no ticking and really loud time bongs. HOWEVER -- what I didn't like was the shipping. It came in original soft packaging box that one would walk out of a store with. Also the Bulova name in bold letters on box was left facing the street for anyone walking by could see. Just lucky nothing was broken. This type of packaging should be put into a larger box for shipping. ... show more

    • I don't get it
I don't get why people are saying this clock is hard to set up. You just put the batteries in, set the time, hang the pendulum and that's it. Hanging on wall within 5 mins of opening the box. Seems to be keeping good time and sounds great!! I hope it lasts. Love it!

    • Clock Set Back One Hour?
Just got this clock and was not easy to get the correct time and exact time. All in all once set it is really nice. My problem is is there anyone out there that knows how to set the clock back one hour without taking out the battery and needing to go through resetting the clock again? It took hours to get it to the correct time and chime. I would hate to have to remove the battery to set the clock back one hour next week and go through that all over again. Does anyone know and easy way to set the clock back one hour without taking the battery out? ... show more

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this clock to anyone. It has a lovely Westminster chime sound option. The only negative I have about the chimes is that they use a tube-type chime sound, something that would be found in a high-end grandfather clock. It would be more realistic to have the Westminster chime sound using the rods in this type of clock. Not a huge deal, but it would be more fitting for a wall clock. Also if you are interested in ordering this clock I would click the option that says to put it in an Amazon box. I would do this for added protection for the clock. The first one I ordered without the extra box arrived broken. I have seen several comments on it not chiming correctly. If you follow the directions included with the clock you will not have any issues. I was able to get it up and running in no time. The accuracy of the clock seems to be good as well.. I have had the clock for 5 days ... show more

    • Does not sound "real"
This was a replacement for a 1910s wind-up family antique that was getting too awkward to wind yet my dad really liked hearing the chimes. This sounds a bit computerized or "tinny" but is very, very close. Minor quibbles: at the 3/4 hour there's a pause as it first plays the 1/2 hour recording, then a follow-up clip. You might not notice if you didn't have decades of knowing what a real one sounded like. There's also a pause before the hour chimes and they're a bit higher pitched than they feel like they "should" be. None of that is a deal breaker. I wish the same music portion came with different designs because I think the "harp" thing in the pendulum looks a bit goofy but maybe if I were a more cultured person I would understand what that's supposed to represent. ... show more

Keeps perfect time and chimes beautifully. Relatively easy to set the time. Easy to follow directions. Beautiful wood casing. Really enjoy hearing it chime. Has three different chimes to choose from.
