  • Can be formatted in FAT32
Capacity: 2 TB Style: Buffalo SSD-PUT Portable Stick SSD Drive Pattern: SSD
These are good drives. I've bought 2 of them now. I'm mainly writing this review to dispel the information given in the top review. I'm going to assume the reviewer meant FAT32 and not FAT/FAT12/FAT16 (because who would even try those, what would still use them, and how would you even format them in some outdated system??). Along with that, let me clarify that you certainly can use FAT32 on these drives without 'losing all your space'. Windows won't natively let you just right click and format into FAT32 for drives larger than 32GB. So, you will probably have to use a 3rd party tool if you want FAT32 (like FAT32Format). And, of course, options like sectors per cluster and such will make a difference on how large the volume can be. FAT32 is supposed to have a limit of 2TB. After that, you'd want to use exFAT/NTFS, or multiple partitions. Some things like TVs and car stereos still need FAT32, but most will read NTFS now. ... show more

  • Great!
Capacity: 1 TB Style: Buffalo SSD-PG Portable SSD Drive Pattern: SSD
I like it can store ps4 or ps5 games. The ps5 games are storage only and must be transferred back to the ps5 from the memory drive in order to play them, it doesn’t take nearly as long and downloading from the Internet. Don’t think it can store both ps5 & ps5 game simultaneously

  • Oh how far we've come
Capacity: 1 TB Style: Buffalo SSD-PUT Portable Stick SSD Drive Pattern: SSD
I remember when buying a 70 MB flash drive (yes that's correct) was the future when I was young. Now...now we have an entire TB that fits in the palm of your hand. Thats wild to me. But as for performance, lightning fast write speeds and so easy to use. Highly recommend if you transport large batches of media or need some extra space to stash your treasured files. ... show more

  • Installing files uses space that can not be recovered.
Capacity: 1 TB Style: Buffalo SSD-PUT Portable Stick SSD Drive Pattern: SSD
Item arrived and I installed it to my computer; said it had 1TB of space. I installed some files and moved them to another computer; worked just fine. Erased the files, by formatting, and now I only have 64MB of space. Be careful when formatting. If you use the FAT system you will only have 64MB of space. Be sure to use the NTFS in order to regain the full space on the drive. The FAT system has a limit of 64MB. This information is from Buffalo; the seller of the SSD. ... show more

  • 2 TB Buffalo Fast SSD
Capacity: 2 TB Style: Buffalo SSD-PUT Portable Stick SSD Drive Pattern: SSD
I was able to make an image of my PC hard drive in 10 minutes. That's 196 GB in 10 minutes. I was amazed how cool it operated all for 100 bucks and a 3 year warranty after registration online.

  • It's good so far. Transfer rates are OK
Capacity: 2 TB Style: Buffalo SSD-PUT Portable Stick SSD Drive Pattern: SSD
I haven't put this through the paces yet, but the times that I have used it, it's worked fine. Applications for a drive this size haven't appeared yet, so I have yet to tax it too much. It seems a little slower than regular flash drives, but not too significantly so.

  • Works on PS5, just take your time setting it up
Capacity: 1 TB Style: Buffalo SSD-PUT Portable Stick SSD Drive Pattern: SSD
This is a USB SSD 1TB stick for use with a PC and PS4/PS5 console (and Xbox Series). I only have a PC and PS5, the PC was able to read this right away without a problem. So if you're wanting this for PC use, it's ready go out of the box. The Playstation 5 is a notoriously picky console with both internal M.2 SSDs and any external HD/SSD you give it, so this being an annoying setup came with the territory. The first order of business is making sure to follow all procedures when using this on a console, make sure your console is fully powered off when removing or inserting this, this is also true for any external SD or HDD you use. Rest mode is not fully powered off state, make sure it's off. I'm gonna over the installation process, if you want my summary review it'll be the last paragraph. The next order of business is on the PC, insert this on a PC, find and use Buffalo's download page for the firmware updater and format tool called DiskFormatter2. My device came in late November and the firmware tool said it was already up to date, the probability they're all running on the latest firmware is high these days but it doesn't hurt to take a minute to check. Following that just use Buffalo's DiskFormatter2 tool to format it back to NTFS, leave everything on default NTFS values. Before doing this this I've tried the Windows 10 built-in formatter and a 3rd party to use this as NTFS and eXFAT and even FAT32, the PS5 would refuse to format it as extended storage. Once the format is complete just put it in one of the USB back ports of a PS5 and format it as extended storage, you're done. If you come across any issues with the PS5 refusing to recognize it or refusing to format as extended storage, retrace my steps and make sure it is firmly set in place (the light will be on during use). For anyone who doesn't read or has misconceptions: the Playstation 5 usage this is for storing and playing PS4 games on it. Sony has said no external HD or SSD will play PS5 games for the foreseeable future. If you want to backup and play PS5 games, you want an M.2 SSD internal solution. This external drive only functions in the back USB ports of the PS5, this is by Sony's intended design and holds true for any SSD or HD external you bought elsewhere, do not place this or other external drives in the front drives ever. I used this briefly on the PC and safety ejected it after setting it up for PS5, never take any shortcuts with any external SSDs, safety first for the health of the drive. I bought the Buffalo SSD USB stick because of its small form factor as a PS4 games storage device on my PS5, it's nice that I can use it on my PC if I ever want to. The USB can be difficult to deal with when attaching on the back of the PS5 because its a retractable design, a blessing and a curse. On a PC you can use an USB anywhere so it really isn't an issue but the PS5 only accepts USB external drives from the back so be gentle when installing it. This type of technology in this form factor is new and it works. The reason I don't give it a perfect review is because of how utterly annoying it was to format it as extended format on PS5, you need to use Buffalo's DiskFormat2 tool otherwise the PS5 will recognize it but it won't let you format it for extended storage with a generic error message. I'm not sure if this is more Sony's fault for their notoriously difficult and picky internal and external solutions. It's also as I said a bit difficult to safely attach on the back, but otherwise it does what it's supposed to do on PS5: Store and play your PS4 games on it. ... show more
