  • Best printer for check ins
Style: New Pattern Name: QL820NWB Size: 5.7" x 5" x 9.2"
We use multiple of these printers for our check in system at church. Super easy to setup, user friendly, and slick. They work with wifi or Bluetooth and if taken care will last forever even with system updates on our connected devices. They also are small enough to move around our campus as needed. All you need for them to work is the correct label paper which they tell you when you open the box. No ink. No fuss. Love it. ... show more

  • Good Label Printer, quick and easy to use.
Style: New Pattern Name: QL820NWB Size: 5.7" x 5" x 9.2"
This printer is easy to move around and use. All of the connectivity options work great on iPads. I don't use the software as I have apps that know how to use the printers for trade shows. Just so you know, if you use the Bluetooth option, you can only have ONE device connected to it via BT. However I had a few devices using one via the direct wifi connection, so that's a possibility if it concerns you. I have several of these and never have any issues. Solid buy if you are looking for something like this. ... show more

  • Excellent Printer, but Be Prepared
Style: New Pattern Name: QL820NWB Size: 5.7" x 5" x 9.2"
This printer gets high stars because, well, it prints fast, relatively cheap, and high quality. Ok, this isn't going to be another pile on about what a great printer this is. It is. But be prepared for some nuisance. Here's my running list: 1) Loading the paper should be easy enough, and it is. But if you mess up anything related to the remaining list you will not know if it is loaded correctly or not. 2) The screen, even though it is the size of a generous Casio watch, demands "EcoZone"-style settings so it will go off in short order and require you to use your iPhone camera to read what is going on. 3) Don't bother trying to print over Bluetooth. It works, and well. Until you close your laptop and leave the house then the P-touch software may refuse to recognize it again despite killing every process on the printer and your computer. Go with WiFi to begin with. 4) This is 2026, regardless you will receive a cable for a Type-A USB/Printer combo. So if you have a modern Mac, I guess get an adaptor or just use WiFi. 5) Yes, there is a USB-A input on the back of the printer, and it might seem that you could use the A-to-C cable you probably have around your house to connect this way. Don't, it wont' work. But if you have a scanning handpiece for reading bar codes - you are good to go. 6) Connecting to WiFi is fairly straight forward because I'm sure there is someone around the house that remembers programming a VCR from the 80's. Ask your parents to scroll the buttons letter by letter. Skip the WPS-press-button option if you have a mesh system in your modern home - it will prompt Claude to tell you to calm down and take a deep breath because it will likely fail. You may get coached into using the Brother iPhone app which works for every other Brother printer, but this one is skipped. I'm sure it was because the 80's VCR method works so well. 7) Keeping in the theme of Lotus Notes, welcome to the P-Touch software. It works, but in this age of single-prompt vibe coded websites it is so bizarre to have software that is so dated. Seriously here. I'm not sure (other than drivers) anything has been done in this interface in over a decade. Having said all that the printer is solid and I'd buy it again. But I now know how to do a shake out cruise without losing my mind. ... show more

  • Good label maker for small business network & works for prescription labels.
Style: New Pattern Name: QL820NWB Size: 5.7" x 5" x 9.2"
So far this is working well for my small business office. I set it up on our network, and am happy to say it was pretty straightforward as long as you have some experience with setting up static ip adresses and installing drivers and programs on multiple computers. For some reason all of the label makers i have used are more difficult to set up on a network than regular printers, but this one was much easier than the zebra printer, and stays connected, unlike the dymo printer. Yes, I am on my 3rd label printer due to network connection issues... If i ever need to purchase another one i am hoping that they come up with a plug and play model. That said, I am using it for prescription labels. Although the labels that I needed to use with my office software are a little big for prescription labels, they work just fine, and the label maker has so far been very reliable to use from any computer in our office. I also like that this machine gives you the option of using several different size labels, which you have to set up on each computer with the p touch program (or it will not let you print anything), so it has more potential uses than the other label makers I have used. Overall happy with this label maker. ... show more

  • Very easy installation!
Style: New Pattern Name: QL820NWB Size: 5.7" x 5" x 9.2"
Installed the QL820NWB on a wired network and use a Mac Mini (Sonoma OS) to print. The desktop software for the Mac is very easy to use and typical of Apple software, the printer was found without any intervention by me (nice). I was impressed with all the available fonts and graphics images. Tested printing on continuous rolls in portrait and landscape, both perfect results. I made this purchase after reading other product reviews that were very negative or mentions returns and quality issues. The QL820NWB printer is being used by me in my office to label systems, network equipment and cables. And for anything else where a label can be used. Great product and great results. ... show more

  • QL-820 NWC Label Printer - Apple M4 incompatibility
Style: New Pattern Name: QL820NWB Size: 5.7" x 5" x 9.2"
QL-820 NWB Label Printer After spending about half a day trying to (unsuccessfully) connect this printer using the very poor instructions that came with the product, we called Brother Support. We spent about an hour with a technician and at the end of our session we were told the QL-820 NWB does not work with the MacBook Air M4 laptop. The tech said if we wanted to use this printer, we would have to use our phone. Not an option for our business and certainly not for the cost of this label printer. Brother told us there were no plans to develop software that would work with the Apple M4 processors. If you have an Apple M4 computer and do not want to operate the printer from an older Apple system or a phone, I recommend passing on this printer and saving a lot of frustration. I would also ask Amazon to put a non-compatibility statement that the printer does not work with the Apple M4 processor. ... show more
