Pretty Quick Setup on a 2009 iMac & 2022 MacBook Air but USPS couldn't deliver
Model name: New Model: MFCL2717DW 2-Year Warran...
Just finished installing the printer. On my 14-year old iMac I used the enclosed CD, followed the prompts and was printing in a matter of minutes. On my 2022 MacBook Air, I went to "Print" and selected the 2717 and was printing. Will provide an update after I've had it a while. Amazon may want to ask what customers think about USPS delivery. I received a message from Amazon that the postal service had tried to deliver and I would need to reschedule. I checked my USPS account online and it said they had tried to deliver at 9:21 in the morning, package was "oversized", a notice was left and would need to reschedule. I clicked reschedule and received a message that link was no longer active. I checked our post box and there was no notice. I left a note in the box for our postal carrier and told her I would come out and pick up the box from her vehicle. When she delivered the mail later in the day she said that morning she'd had a lot of packages and didn't have room for the printer. She left the "notice" that started "sorry we missed you while you were out". I drove into town (15 minutes away) to the post office to get the printer. I asked if the person at the counter could explain why the package wasn't delivered. His response, "Yeah, sometimes if they've got too many packages they leave some behind." Brother and Amazon get 5 stars, Post Office gets 0. Amazon Prime delivery is a great convenience--if the Post Office delivers. ... show more

I'm an idiot...
Model name: New Model: MFCL2717DW 2-Year Warran...
...for spending years and money with those typical inkjet printers and all-in-ones. I thought yeah the cartridges are expensive, but I don't print that much anyway. The truth is those cartridges drain way faster than advertised no matter what setting you put on. I also used to think, "oh but if I want to print something in color." SO NOT WORTH IT. This baby? It just works. Everything just works. The tactile buttons, the old school digital display, and the software UI make it look like it's from 2004, but it purrs like a kitten. It prints fast and super clearly. I even prefer the buttons, as I always find those touchscreens very hit or miss. Even if I somehow only get a quarter of the advertised 1200 pages from the toner, it will beat every inkjet I've ever owned. ... show more

Excellent replacement for my Samsung AIO
Model name: New Model: MFCL2717DW 2-Year Warran...
It came time to replace my old Samsung AIO printer. I really did my homework before making a purchase decision, and Brother is simply the way to go. Brother has a well-earned excellent reputation and I've never had problems with their products. I also use Brother's pro-grade network cable labeler, also excellent. ... show more

This is a great laser jet printer.

Brother make great printers. This one is an all in one that does everything. Installation was quick and simple. Faxing, printing and coping were very simple. Scanning is a little more complicated, but that is the case on all printers. Scan option is simple. Retrieving what you scan requires an understanding of files and folders. Easy for me to do, but my wife told me it was two complicated. All in all, a great purchase. ... show more

It prints when connected via USB. That's about it.
Model name: Renewed Model: MFCL2717DW 2-Year Wa...
I really wanted to like this printer, sadly... it prints and that is about it. I cannot get my mac to recognize it as a scanner. It also appears to have no usb port to scan to a drive... so I am unable to use it as a scanner. Another issue is the character limit on input for passwords so I am unable to input the password to my wifi network and connect it for printing via wifi because the password is too long and I don't control that network password. That means I cannot print via wifi for my purposes and have to be connected via a long janky usb cable to my mac. It prints fast. That's about it. Print quality leaves something to be desired. Also the sleep mode cannot be fully disabled which is annoying as heck. ... show more
