I've used so many label makers over the years and this is the best of them all. It's just so versatile. You can hook it up to a PC via USB or Bluetooth and use it like a printer. You can just use it as a handheld. It runs on batteries or via AC adapter. It does perfect cutting of the label where each side has equal margins. It has just so many options in how the label is made (margins, fonts, many rows of text, size of label paper, etc). There are so many fonts and icons/graphics available. And the graphics are high quality. If you want a label printer that can do everything, this is the one to get. If you just want a basic label printer that just prints labels of text, there are cheaper options. But even for basic text, this is a great printer because you don't need scissors to make the label the right size. You also don't need to press a button to cut the label like with other printers. It's such a nice luxury. The only "negative" is that it's a very big printer. But I've adapted. I've put this printer through a lot of abuse. I have it in my tool bag because of how great this printer is and how often I have to use it. ... show more

This is a really nice label printer. It’s got a great color screen, a wide variety of templates and infinite creativity for wide variety of custom labels in both content and tape size. There is a LOT in this printer and it can be a bit daunting to figure it all out. It takes 6 AA batteries and I use Lithium batteries. They are pricey batteries but they don’t leak and they last a long time. The AA batteries hold the settings when the AC cord is disconnected. This is unit is hefty and well made and I got it with the case which holds multiple tapes, the printer, AC cord and manual. I use this printer for audio cables, files and making electrical and plumbing connections. It connected to my iPhone Bluetooth in less than 5 minutes & to my Samsung Galaxy tablet Bluetooth in about 8 minutes. Both apple and android have the iPrint app. My Surface 3 laptop was the total opposite - a complete pain to connect vie Bluetooth. I think that fact is due exclusively to Windows 11 idiocy, not this printer. LONG story of hours of screwing around with Windows 11, a chat with Brother and then going old school. By “Old School”, I mean deleting all the printer drivers and Bluetooth data from my Surface. I found that you need to install the “iPrint” app first, register the printer and THEN add the windows 11 printer driver from brother. That solved my issues. I will give Brother one kick in the shin for their annoying registration process. It asks for the unit serial number. I entered the 15 digit number 5 times - no go. WTF? I dug into the Brother fine print and saw that only the last 9 characters and numbers are required to register the machine for warranty purposes. Why? No idea, but that was really annoying and took a while to figure out. Other than those one off and one time screwy setup issues, this is a great printer! Hope this helps. ... show more

This works with their app (via Bluetooth) which allows you to make cool custom labels that you could not do on a basic label maker. It also saves previous labels so you don’t have to recreate them every time and have a ton a pre loaded templates. The only downside on the device is that the arrows where you add special characters are in the top middle. Seems out of place compared to previous models. ... show more

Wowzers! I can make 1" labels at home? I installed the PTouch drivers, and software within 2 minutes after plugging in the USB plug. No updates needed. PC synched with PTouch instantly. My first label was a comical monkey label as I went down the rabbit hole with seemingly like a quadrillions symbols on the PTouch editor. Use their graphics or upload your own. I like that I can use any size TZe tape. But I'm starting off with the big boy...the one incher! ... show more

Great for electrical panels, kids stuff etc. Wastes a lot of tape, but get's the job done. Both the PC & mobile apps are functional, but could use streamlining.

I don't have a ton of need for labels, but I finally got to the point that I cared! I leave this powered up and sitting on my desk, hooked to my desktop. I have it shared, so I can print from my phone, anywhere. (on the same network) I can walk around the house, see something I want to label, then create & print from my phone. When I get done, I have a nice pile of labels waiting for me! Don't miss the tips for minimizing excess label material! Home/Create Label/FN/Scroll down to "Cut Option".
