From my past experience, I never ran my inkjet printer down to the ground. The reason why I got rid of them was because the ink was not so sustainable in the long run. I realized now ink jets are for suckers :| In addition, want versus need; do you really need that color printer? I don't; I do presentations and most of items I print are road maps during long travels just in case GPS goes kaput, plan tickets, tax documents etc etc. The wireless setup is pretty easy - I was up and running in no time and can print from Windows, Mac, iPhone and Ipad at home wirelessly. No complaint so far. I will update again in 5-6 months hoping that the laser jet cartridge will last a long time since I seldom use it. 11/11/2022 - This printer is still working like a charm. I have not replaced the ink but then I only use it to print shipping docs etc. I recently changed my router. To change the wifi network : Use the up/down arrow to locate NETWORK (hit OK) ii). choose WLAN(hit OK) iii)Choose Up/Down arrow to locate SETUP WIZARD. iv). Tried of color printers because they seem to go out of alignment to often. So friend had one and never had a problem so thatโ€™s why I bought one. Saw good reviews on them also

I ordered this printer to replace a 10-12 year old HP Color LaserJet. Then I read the negative reviews and got scared, particularly of the wireless setup. because I knew I didn't have the proper USB cable for a wired connection. My fears were absolutely groundless. The hardest part of the setup was entering my 24 character password on the 2-inch Brother screen because the printer automatically found my WiFi network. Once I successfully entered the pasword the refurbished Brother HLL2350DW immediately started spitting out perfect printing jobs from my PC, my wife's PC and her iPad with no additional setup at all. One side, two sides. It's great. So for $80 I've got a laser printer that fits all our needs. If getting rid of the coronavirus was this easy, life would be perfect. UPDATE: 1/6/2022 - I couldn't be more pleased with this little gem which has now worked flawlessly for over two years. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. ... show more

The first toner cartridge did not last long as I expected, but the printer works well. One feature I had trouble with is that it seems like you have to restart the printer each time it goes into deep sleep mode

    • Refurb unit Wi-Fi doesn't work, constantly disconnects
I own two of these: one I bought new, and one I bought refurb The one I bought new is great and works perfectly The one I bought refurb is a pain because the Wi-Fi is completely useless and constantly disconnects--I've updated the firmware and reset it and it made no difference. The 90-day warranty also expired so there's nothing to be done but use it as a wired printer Would not buy a refurb printer again ... show more

    • "Wrong Toner" message appears when I put in BROTHER toner and turn printer on.

I purchased this refurbished and when I attempted to use it, it just says "Wrong Toner" and won't function. I checked and rechecked the toner and it say's 'BROTHER' on it and I've unplugged and plugged in the cartridge several times and retried installing it, turning it off and on, etc. Just says "Wrong Toner" and says to open the front and put in the right toner. When I try to print something, a "Brother Status Monitor" pops up on my screen and displays a message that tells me I have the 'Wrong Toner' and has a link to the 'Genuine Supplies website'. I'm thinking that Brother has gone a bit overboard on making sure people use their supplies instead of lower cost generic toner supplies. If they're going to charge $300 for a printer, they should let me use whatever supplies I want. If they want me to use their genuine supplies that are priced more than triple the generic cost, they should sell the printer for $50 or something. Otherwise, it's a bad way to treat your customer if you ask me... ... show more
