  • My first brother printer..I am in LOVE
Over the past 30 years, I have used multiple inkjects from HP, canon, epson, etc. They all are messy, expensive, and sometimes difficult to setup. I had a hate/hate relationship with printers until Brother. I no longer needed a color printer so I tried out this model from Brother. Setup was incredibly easy. Within minutes I was printing off my pc, my ipad, my iphone with zero issues. This printer is also so much faster than all those inkjets who say they print 50ppm when they actually do more like 8 in black and white. The starter cartridge lasted several hundred prints which is incredible. Changing out the toner was also a breeze. Its easy to find the right toner to. Just use genuine Brother TN-730 or TN-760. I have let mine stay in the default setting which puts the printer to sleep because it only takes about 5 seconds for the printer to “wake up” after you hit print. In summary, I am never going back to any ink jet..ever. Brother you have earned my business so please don’t change anything! ... show more

  • Small, compact, wireless, and easy to set up. And works fine with Windows 10 and Ubuntu Linux
Many years ago, I bought a Brother color laser printer and got a tremendous amount of use out of it. It has now reached the age where it wants the belts and drums and all the other expensive bits replaced (and I can't complain, because I used a hack I found online to make it think I'd already replaced all of them a couple of years before, and it continued to work just fine for many more prints after that). I no longer have as much of a need for color printing these days (we won't talk about how much the Epson "EcoTank" printer I bought *sucked*... ahem...) so I decided to try another Brother product. So far, it works great, and was very easy to get on our network. Both Windows 10 and Ubuntu Linux 20.x appeared to have built-in support for it, so that was easy too. The only issue I've noticed is that sometimes it seems like you have to "wake it up" to get it to process the print jobs it's received, but that could just be us doing something weird. Now, if I could just get the cat to stop jumping on the desk and laying down on top of the nice warm freshly-printed pages... <.< ... show more

  • Not terrible expensive, works like a champ after it's setup
I read lots of reviews of this before purchasing and there were people mentioning setting up WiFi was a little difficult because you had to use the display and buttons to enter your info. Other reviews suggested there was away to do it through the PC app, so being a techie type person I tried to find a way to set it up from the PC. I didn't feel like entering my long wifi passphrase through their two-button scrolling... but in the end I gave up, I couldn't find a way, so I had to use the display and buttons on the printer. After a few minutes to enter my passphrase it was up and running. No problems since. I've printed from my PC and from an iPhone without any difficulty. So my two cents, just bite the bullet and use the buttons and display knowing it'll be a minor hassle and don't bother looking for another way to set it up, it'll just waste more time. Happy with my purchase. Would recommend. ... show more

  • Works well, razor-sharp prints
It works very well. I picked this one to replace a Samsung laser printer, the latter which I gave the "Office Space" treatment after jamming up on me for the umpteenth time (go see the movie if you don't know what this means). I already had another Brother printer of the same family as this one and it never jams, so this printer purchase was an obvious choice. This printer is the same as the Brother I already had, but without the "top buildup" (the scanner and the auto-feeder). I assumed that this printer would use the same toner and drum cartridges as my other Brother, as they most likely would use the same laser core engine. Guess what, it doesn't.... that was kind of a bummer. But my own fault, should have checked that beforehand. Other thing that was unexpected: It does not have a hard-wired Ethernet interface (RJ45), only wireless (it does have the USB though). Not that big of a deal, wireless works well, but I would have like it as I have the whole house wired with CAT5 ethernet. But for the rest, nothing but kudos , a very good printer for an acceptable price. So I decided to keep it despite the different cartridges between the models, and the missing RJ45. ... show more

  • Prints well. WiFi only, but it works.
I like this printer. The print quality is good, speed is good, toner use and price are not bad, printer price is good. I was a little dubious about a WiFi printer without a USB cable option, but the WiFi works fine, and it does eliminate one long cable and the hassle of routing it between the computer and printer. Setup was easy and smooth. It does a decent job of printing envelopes, although they do tend to crinkle a bit -- not ideal, but good enough that I do it regularly. My previous Brother lasted for many years (and had the same weakness with envelopes), but buying this one new was cheaper and faster than getting a new drum assembly for the old one... plus all the other parts are new and clean. No regrets. ... show more
