I've owned a lot of printers and none have been easier to configure. I plugged in the printer and slid in some paper and the toner cartridge. I used the menu on the printer to configure Wifi. All of the Windows 10/11 machines across my home detected and installed the device with zero software installation or account sign-in required. Printing is extremely fast and quiet. This is in stark contrast to recent HP printers that prefer you download their app to your phone to begin setup, download huge driver packages from the internet that slow down your machine, and require creating and signing in to an HP account to use their printers at all. The HP accounts are mandatory so that they can monitor usage and remotely disable printer cartridges if you cancel their HP instant ink program. Brother has a winner with this HL-L23 90DW printer. the worst purchase I have ever made, the product was damaged and did not work, when I returned it they charged me almost half the cost to return it

Tried to wire directly but no go. Used the wireless via the disk. Took a while but went well. And I am not super savy so the instructions were sort of idiot proof. Thank you Brother

Your default is buried behind curtains. I should not have to assume the router does everything automagically without decent directions.

If you enjoy loading each piece of paper separately (that you wish to copy) you’ll love it. Lots and lots of opening and closing the top.

    • Doesn't allow use to set a default printing mode
The quality of this printer is excellent. The problem is the software and user functions. The default settings cannot be modified and saved. The settings have to be changed each time you use it. I need to set the default printing for single page printing instead of double-sided printing. My other printers allows me to change the the default printing for single sided printing. After wasting thousands of printed copies, I had to discard the printer. Will definately check to make sure I can modify the default printer settings before I buy another Brother printer. ... show more
