This is a much better design than most! I’ve tried many brooder heaters. Many just don’t get warm enough. This one does. Many are difficult to clean due to oddball plastic parts, birds getting on top of them, and components with threaded screw posts. This one isn’t. It is very streamlined and easy to clean. Many are flat and radiant, yet aren’t versatile or moveable. This one is versatile and moveable. I can angle it. I can mount it. I can use the stand. And it radiates from BOTH sides! It gets MUCH warmer than the other flat plate I have. I think this is a great heater!

This brooder plate works exceptionally well for maintaining the heat level for our 8 chicks! It is roomy enough for our eight and likely several more. Even as they are growing they still have quite a bit of room. It has proven safe, as we have used it in the playyard turned brooder box with chucks (hospital bed pads) as well as now pine shavings without fear of fire. It was very easy to click together, plug in and get to warming. It heats on both sides without danger of burning oneself or the chicks. We especially love the TIMER feature! If I set the timer for 12 hours at 9 pm, I can still have time in the morning for coffee and such without having to temperature check the girls right away. It will auto shut off and begin reducing the temperature. I would highly recommend this purchase for anyone starting out with day old chicks and for anyone that wants a safe heating option that you don’t have to worry about overheating an area.

The legs arent sturdy and more than once this has fallen down almost on the baby chicks. They like to jump on it and move it like a seasaw. I do like the temperature can adjust. Dont like the legs though.

I have several of these heat plates. My chickens love them. They are easy to use and clean. The quality is great! They have been running for months now and I have not had an issue. Also, if your power goes out, if the heat plate was on before, it will automatically turn on again to save the baby chickens.

I have been using this for a few months now. It says dual sided but one side definately doesn't warm up like the other. The side that does heat is the side with the display on it so when tilted down cannot see what temp is displayed. So far I haven't lost any chicks and we are coming out of the winter. Cleaning is a pain as I don't think it is subergable so a lot of wiping down because they sit on it. When I set it up the screws don't seem to tighten enough to stay where I put it but will make due.

Easy peasey set up, larger than I expected and heats up quickly. I feel this is safer and easier than the normal heat lighting I use.

Lost 3 chicks because of this faulty product. I didn’t want to use a heat lamp because of the fire dangers, however that’s my only choice now. Several times this brooder plate has dropped down to 60 degrees while I was at work, despite being set at 167. Very disappointing & would not recommend.

While it does warm up it doesn’t produce enough heat to accurately warm up chicks or chickens in cold temps. Wouldnt buy this again.
