We love these waterers. The ducks can access the water as well as the chickens. We haven't had algae problems. We used fish tank heaters over winter. Yes, they leak a little, but we just twisted the spigots tighter. We will probably add a drip tray this winter. But we have two that we've had for two years and plan to keep them.

We keep it in the shade and fill it up 2 times a month. Occasionally, one of the spouts might drip on it's own but after I push it in it usually seats correctly. It doesn't get smelly so far and the chickens figured it out pretty quickly. Approximately 10 chickens are using it. We don't use this during winter.

This was a great purchase. It allows a lot of water to be available for when you might have to take extended trips. It keeps the water clean and chickens don't have any issues using it. It does not leak. We had a container with the cups that fill with gravity, but those always got clogged up with dusk as if you know if you own chickens, they kick up a ton of dirt everywhere. These water nipples are much cleaner that any of the ones that have cups. I wish I had bought this sooner. It is very sturdy and well made. When filled with water it is heavy and you don't have to worry about chickens knocking it over. The thickness of the plastic walls makes it feel durable and I have not seen any signs of aging and we have been using it for several months. It is not insulated so the water temperature doesn't stay super cool, but it also is not hot.

I really wanted to like these, especially for the cost but every single one of them has had catastrophic failures, flooded my coop, flooded my run, was fixed, proceeded to break in a new spot, reflooded my coop, reflooded my run. I have come to terms with the fact that I just wasted $160 not including all of the fixes that I have had to do to try to make it work but I cannot in good conscience allow someone else to make the mistake that I did and get this product. The feeder version of this is perfect and I love it but find a different type of waterer, seems and the holes that allow the nipples to be screwed in are really not structurally made to hold water. The nipples are taller than about 2 gallons worth of water that sits at the bottom, so even in its design, it really should have never made it to production.

I love the size of this waterer. My flock of 14 never even came close to running out of water during the hot summer months as they did with the previous waterers I used. I keep this one in the outside run as I feel the nipples leak a little bit when the chickens drink - just the nature of the nipples. I have another waterer I got as a gift that uses cups. If that seems so work better/minimizes water spills, I may see if I can switch out the nipples to the cups on this one and replace the ones inside the coop with this one.

This chicken waterer is so nice it's ready to clean and hold enough water that I only have to fill it every 8 days or so depending on the weather, i have 22 chickens. It's a heavy duty plastic. It holds i think 15 gallons i don't remember i was just excited to get it. When it freezes in my region it only freezes on the top of the water.

My absolute favorite chicken waterer. I love the size of it and the fact it hold 12 gallons of water. So the water retention is amazing! Easy to assemble. It’s functionality is amazing not have to fill your waterer every day. It is compatible with a deicer. So no more dealing with on unthawing frozen chicken waterer. The weight empty isn’t heavy. Filled we’ll forget picking that up. I put down bricks to put it on. Added bonus chickens can’t dirty their water.
