So easy to put together! Older chicks are taking to it fast, not recommended for young ones as mine are almost 4 weeks old and about 6 inches tall so perfect for the nipple waterers. What an amazing product! I must admit I was a bit skeptical living here in Arizona I thought there's nothing that is going to keep water cool for my chickens. I used to have to add ice blocks daily to the water to keep it cool. Believe it or not I checked the water after 90° weather and it was still cold. The size is perfect for my flock, so the water capacity is great, there was no leakage, extremely easy to assemble. I do not hang my waterer or seed feeders. My chickens had no issues changing over from there previous water dispensers. This chicken water was a bit expensive but I must say well worth the price.     • Excellent product but not perfect.

I don’t have it long enough to see if water will freez in it or not, but the water is definitely on hot days staying colder in it much longer than some other products I’ve tried so far. It is very pricey, but it helps chickens cool off faster when they’re overheating. Unfortunately the water heats up in those cups still, and lots of dust collects in them, which makes that water kinda dirty. However, this product does come with nipples that you can install instead of cups, but you better make sure your chickens know how to use them. The price and the fact that cups kinda negate the cooling and clean water idea knocks down one star to 4, but if nipples are used, than it’s worth 5 starts. I also suggest to buy the 3 gallon one, because on hot days, 10 chickens will drain it to nothing in less than a day. If you have more than 10 chickens, you may need 2 of them in the run. ... show more

If you’re debating on buying this Omlet waterer take this as your sign to do so! I’ve tried many waterers all of which were a waste of time and money, I can’t believe how much sellers charge for some of the junky plastic ones. So far this waterer is by far the best quality with actually solid material, though the price is a little steep. I have observed no leaks since my girls have been using it with the drip nipple option vs the cups. It’s very easy to refill which I find has to be done about every other day for my 10 chickens (I purchased the 3 gallon size with 5 stations). ... show more

    • No more wild bird poop!

So far, water cups are working well. I had read warnings about getting the plastic bolts too tight when putting on the cups, so I did that in lieu of my husband, who always gets things too tight! Set up was simple. Chickens seem to like it fine. They do get dirt in the bowls, but I’m not concerned with dirt, chickens love muddy water. The reason I ordered this waterer was because of the birds pooping in the water. I gave 4 stars because birds can still sit on the very top, but the poop doesn’t fall into the cups. I will remedy this by putting some tacks on top with double stick tape. I will also mention we chose to use the cups, because we have tried the nipples and did not think our chickens were getting enough to drink with the nipples. Will update when we have steady 100 degree heat as far as insulating is concerned. ... show more

Love this!!!! My 4 Easter Egger chickens caught on pretty quick. I unscrew and move the cups to the side to clean out. Keeps water cool and doesn't get real messy. It's been about 3 weeks, and I just cleaned it out today. I use my hose outside to clean, then bring out water from the house to fill up. Using the hose outside for chicken stuff works well! This is the best waterer I have for my chickens. Omlet thought of and addressed every issue that most of the others have; the locking lid, the water level indicator, the height and capacity, and of course the individual cups. Could not be happier.
