This has been great for my run. I have a small flock of 5. They have a small-ish covered run and this sits in that space 24/7. I can fill this with enough feed for two weeks or so. I propped it up on a cinder block and it’s perfect for my girls. No mess. Easy to refill. I even hose it off when I clean the run and the water stays out as long as I don’t spray directly at the food openings. Worth the investment!

I was very nervous when it first came because it is so small. But I really needed a long-term solution for multiple days for my flock. I have 25 chickens and was going to be gone for four days, the neighbor will watch them, but I wanted peace of mind. It does hold the full 50 pounds and I was able to make it five days before refilling. Excellent product.

This is my second feeder that I have purchased from this company . I just bought 35 chicks and I watched the taking their beaks and raking the feed onto the ground with the feeder I had. This feeder stops them from doing that because of its design. It saves so much money because I don’t have to buy feed like I did before I bought this. They were going through a 50 pound bag of chick starter feed every week mostly because it went on the ground. It’s easy to fill and keep clean. I wouldn’t put it where it can get rained on because the water will go into the feeding ports and cause the feed to mold. I bought one a while back for my older chickens because they wasted so much feed too . I highly recommend this feeder!

I bought both the feeder and waterer. I put out the feeder first as it was winter here and I didn't have a heater for the waterer yet. I put it in place of the old feeder out in the middle of the run, but with our sub zero temps one of the chickens must have knocked off the lid and somehow broke it. This is the only flaw in the design is the lid is made of a thinner plastic and the reason it didn't get a full 5 star review. Anyway, I contacted the company letting them know, hoping to be able to purchase a new lid as I used the lid off of the waterer to replace the broken feeder lid. Nice that they are interchangeable. Which left me one lid short. The company sent out a new lid free and I had it with in a few days. I have since moved the feeder into the coop since blowing snow was still able to get into and plug the feed openings, although rain was kept out. I like how it is able to go against a wall, so it can be put even in a narrow coop with enough room for the chickens to eat comfortably. I've had it for many months now and still like it a lot, it has completely solved the waste of feed on the ground which was a big problem with my hens. They had figured out how to circumvent even the most touted waste free feeders before.

This is an excellent feeder. We loved it so much we got a second one to help spread the chickens out. There is minimal waste from it and it can really hold a lot of feed. We have been able to go on trips and this still had feed in it when we came back after three days. It's fairly stable, but we did end up raising it just a bit on some old 2x4s to stabilize it on uneven ground. Would definitely recommend.

Very little spillage now

This is a great feeder. Even at the price, it is a good deal because I shoveled more than 150 lbs of spoiled food out the coop when I installed this feeder. After two full bags of feed, there is only a little spoiled feed on the floor. I am so happy that I purchased another feeder so that my hens will have easier and more ready access to feed when they want it. The feeder seems to be put together nicely and the plastic looks to be thick enough to last. If I see any cracks (as some others have reported) then I will reinforce the corners with some fiberglass cloth and resin. At $21 a bag for feed, this feeder will actually pay for itself in the amount of spoiled feed I have found over the years. My daily cost of feed usage went from $3.42 to $1.71 after transitioning to this feeder; so it will take some time to recover the cost but the recovery time is in the two to three month time frame for each feeder. I suspect that the recovery time will be better because I have 9 pullets that will join the flock in the next couple of weeks.

This feeder is amazing. It is really big, it holds a BIG bag of feed (50 lbs), though I mix their grain with other stuff first. But the big opening at the top makes it really easy to refill. The openings for feeding are inside the body of the feeder, so rain does not get in easily. Poop cannot get onto the food since it is inside. It works really well to keep their food clean, dry and with no bugs. I recommend it.
