The Brita filter does a good job of producing good tasting and presumably quality water. It really improves the taste of the water coming from the city pipes. The only drawback of this model its size, a little too small for us. But it is more convenient than the larger sizes.

The filter removes chlorine and impurities really well, and I noticed a difference in taste almost immediately—filtered water is fresh and clean. It takes about 2-3 minutes to filter a full pitcher, which is pretty quick.

I've had this pitcher for 9 months now & it still works wonderfully! The Brita filter lasted 7-8 months for one person using average 1 & 1/2 a day (I know, I should be drinking more). The color indicator never seemed to turn yellow, but the green seemed to flash slower, then one day it was flashing red - and there was a difference in taste. So maybe be ready with another filter instead of waiting to buy one until you see the yellow. I did buy a knockoff brand filter replacement & there's enough of a difference in taste (& most likely longevity) that I am DEFINITELY staying with the BRITA brand filter from now on. FYI - the Brita filter did need to be 'burped' about 3 times toward the beginning (water was not percolating through, so I just ran my finger across the top of the filter to get it going) - & now that I've had the lower quality knockoff that has not needed burping, I consider that a GOOD quality instead of bad. Also, I'm glad I waited this long to give a review because in the beginning, I was wondering how the plastic was going to hold up & it has! The hard plastic 'felt' like it would be more brittle, so I tried to be careful not to bang it pulling it out of the fridge etc. But it HAS happened enough times & I've inspected it, for me to realize that it's durable! I also noticed that it's AIRTIGHT - not sure if that's the word for it - but it never produced any little mold spots INSIDE the pitcher! When I did see one or two, they formed at the very top edge where tap water droplets strayed while filling it. When I noticed that, I learned from my lesson & made sure to have the pitcher open & ready to be filled directly instead of allowing any stray water droplets to happen. As per instructions, I also don't leave the flip top open while it's percolating. I close it then open again to fill to fill line (the little protrusion) a 2nd time. I've also noticed to be careful not to touch the pour spout on anything since tiny mold spots can occur there. Otherwise, I've left it in the fridge without the need to clean it out (no signs or smells of bacteria inside) all those months. There is ONE thing that I would like for them to change in the design, but it's not bad enough to take off a star. The flip top, although it opens easily, also CLOSES too easily. I flip it with my thumb while holding the handle, but then when I barely move my thumb it hits it closed again. I hate when that happens because then the tap water splashes across the top between the pitcher & filter top or the spout to potentially produce tiny mold spots. I have to constantly remind myself to be careful flipping the top & totally take my hands away & have the tap placed squarely over the open area before turning on the water. There's enough room between faucet & pitcher that I can flip it closed again right away for it to percolate. I LOVE that the percolating process doesn't take too long either! Although it does percolate faster with the knockoff filter - another sign the knockoff doesn't work as well.

I never thought I’d say this, but after running our well water through a Brita filter, it genuinely tastes like a gift from God. Before, our water had that unmistakable mineral-heavy, slightly metallic taste that made it hard to enjoy a simple glass. But once we started using the Brita, the transformation was incredible. The water is now crisp, clean, and refreshing like it came straight from a mountain spring. It’s made a huge difference not just in taste, but in how much water we drink as a family. Even the kids are asking for water over juice now! Setup was easy, the filters last a good while, and the pitcher fits perfectly in our fridge. If you’re on well water and tired of that earthy aftertaste, do yourself a favor and get a Brita. It’s a small investment for a daily blessing in a glass.

I bought two similar filter/pitchers, Brita and Pur, in April. Both are fine, although the water tastes a bit better from the Brita. The main reason I wanted to write a review is that I read some crazy reviews about these products: spouts not staying open when you pour water out, lids not staying up when you're putting water in, etc, and I can't see any way any of those things could happen. They function perfectly. The one legit issue was cracked pitcher on arrival, both brands. Easy replacement, both have worked fine with constant use for over 2 months.

This pitcher was a great purchase. My only complaint is, it only holds 6 cups. I'm sure Brita has larger pitchers, but I didn't find them on Amazon. That is on me, not on Amazon or Brita. The pitcher comes with a filter and is easy to assemble. Wash well, follow instructions on priming the filter, then fill with water. I keep extra water in the refrigerator so when it runs low, I use that water to refill the pitcher. I believe my drinking cup is a 32 oz insulated deal I got on Amazon. This being a six cup pitcher, do the math. It's alright because the water is amazing. Some people say they cannot tell the difference and that is fine for them. I can taste the difference, and I have used bottled/filtered water over straight tap for decades. I stopped using plastic bottles during COVID. My suggestion is look for a Brita pitcher that is larger than 6 cups, particularly if you have a family. I am sure they are available. I'm a dumb-dumb. Also, if you buy a package of three (or more) filters and, they are supposed to last 2 months maybe 3, you've got at least 6 months worth of filters. You don't have to think about purchasing filters, and saving a few coins. Overall, I am very happy with this Brita pitcher.
