I have had this for several days and it works fine. I got it not so much to bad tastes or smells in my local tap water but to hopefully filter out lead which has no odour or taste--just in case my older apartment has lead pipes which I assume it has. I drink 80- 100 oz of water daily, in form or decaf teas and water for health and workouts so, IF I'm drinking lead---I was getting a good amount over time. This Brita with the Elite filter, gives the smoothest, cleanest, most delicious water I have had in a long time. Our kitchen sink is broken underneath, so until we have the new sink put in, we use the sink in the bathroom. Which would be ok, but it just seems a tiny bit funky. It could be my imagination, but it bothered me so much, that I broke down and bought this Brita. The pitcher is strong, not flimsy, as it has been reported to be. It is attractive when left on the counter. It is easy to fill, you just open the top, and gently hold it open for a second, and it will stay open. The water filters fast! I love my water again! I keep the pitcher in the refrigerator for very cold, refreshing water. The only thing I would change would be to get the larger pitcher. I bought the 6 cup, which is fine. But, when we get a refrigerator with more room, I will buy a larger Brita pitcher. I am just happy to have such clean water. Even our dog seems to be drinking more water! I live somewhere in Texas where the water is HARD. We have strong chlorine and sulfur tastes in our tap water. I was sick of purchasing gallon jugs every week so I decided to get the pro filter. It removes the nasty taste of the tap water. It doesn't taste like the purified water that comes in stores, but that's probably better for my health anyway. The blue is a great deep blue. The pitcher is well sized for a single individual, i would suggest larger for a family. Easy to put together, the instructions on the filter LEDs were a bit confusing, so i removed a star on east of use. It was unclear if the supplied filter was an advanced filter or not. One week in and so far so good. I did notice the taste of my water and the clarity was improved with the Elite filter. I was amazed that the water was crystal clear. It took filling and emptying four times at the beginning for the waters taste to level off. Container is a thin plastic and I think the reason it doesn't close right to the edge is to prevent mold. I really like the indicator light feature, also this smaller pitcher is quite heavy when full. So glad I didn't get the larger one. The smaller pitcher also fits nicely in the door of my older refrigerator. Overall, I would recommend this Brita Metro pitcher. I would buy another one if they make the Stream version in the smaller size. ... show more
