I wanted to cut back on buying bottled water and decided on a pitcher filter. I looked at several filters before deciding on the Brita 6 Cup Water Filter Pitcher. This pitcher is supposed to filter out impurities and contaminants found in tap water. I really like the size of the pitcher it’s easy to handle and pour. The handle is comfortable and the lid fits snug. It fits in the refrigerator or countertop and doesn’t take up a lot of space. The pitcher is made from BPA-free. It comes with a standard filter that was easy to install. The manual suggests changing filter every 2 months or 40 gallons. Its easy to clean by hand or in the dishwasher. I like the reset with flashing green/red light so you don’t forget to change the filter. The water does taste a lot better out of the filter than the tap. We refill the pitcher two or three times per day. Only 40 gallons per filter so order extra filters. Overall, the quality is good, it’s easy to use and clean. In the area where I live, construction has been going on for the past couple of years. Now of course I knew that drinking the water from the Kitchen sink wouldn’t be 100% healthy. So I would go to the grocery store and buy cases of water, thinking no big deal. At a certain point going into the year, I started to realize that drinking a gallon of water was necessary. I also realize that I was spending a lot of money on cases of water, just to make sure that I was drinking A gallon a day. Long story short I bought the brita, and it’s been the best thing ever for my home. I saw some reviews and instantly knew that I would have to follow the directions, lol that is a major key to getting this baby to do what it was made to do. I want to first say make sure that you have the filter properly put in, with that being said if the water Starts to fill up fast, something is wrong and it’s probably because you did not put the filter in property. I would also recommend watching a video if you get confused at any point. some people are visual people and that’s OK, YouTube can help you a lot. I would also like to point out if you see any black particulars inside your water, don’t freak out. it’s natural because that is what’s helping to actually filter the water. just rinse the brita out and you are good to go. buying this item has actually saved me money, and has been helping me drink that amount of water that I am supposed to drink daily. My water it’s tasting better, i’m saving money, and I’m not drinking toxic crap out the sink. I hope this review is helpful with making your decision to purchase a brita! ... show more

Even though people are saying it doesn't get everything, I was satisfied and refreshed with the water quality this has given me for years. It has lasted me through university and some years. It is a perfect fit for the fridge, if you like cool water. Filter speed was decent. It does the job.
