I'm not sure where this was made, but it seems to be of much better quality than a lot of the Chinese-made clocks at this size and price point. It is easy to set and read. Its size is nice for traveling. My only complaint is that the alarm isn't as loud as I'd like, but it's OK.

The alarm is not very loud. Other small travel clocks I have owned in the past would get louder after a while. I never had a problem hearing an alarm from a clock right next to me on my nightstand. This one just continues/snoozes at same low volume. (snooze time 5 minutes) I also find it hard to change the alarm time in that I cannot feel the buttons on the back of the clock. There are + and - buttons that change one minute at a time (no hour button). On my previous alarm clocks those buttons had a tactile aspect to them and I could easily reset the time while hardly looking at the clock. But these buttons are flush with the back and I find I must turn the clock over and concentrate on placing my fingers on the buttons. Not a big deal, but not nearly as easy to use as my earlier clocks. The low light is nice but honestly the other more important features are lacking. I feel like I overpaid by a lot for this clock.

This is replacing my alarm clock of 24 years that just wouldn’t die, even after countless drops by toddlers and puppy teeth. The screen finally went so dim, it was nearly invisible. I’m sad, because it was instrument of good old quality. I did a lot of research and decided to go with this Braun model for a replacement. It won’t have to hold up to all the abuse my old one had to endure, and it probably wouldn’t. I love the dark screen! I wake easily and often. A bright display in my face all night would prevent me from going back to sleep. The light comes on with a slight touch on the top/snooze space, and goes off after a few seconds, thus saving battery. It’s simple to set up, without having to read a manual. No useless bells and whistles. Time and alarm is all there is. No need for weather station or date in the middle of the night. It’s tiny! Did I say it’s tiny? It is very tiny, so be aware of the measurements in centimeters. I ❤️ , ❤️ , ❤️ the crescendo beep. I actually remember dreams when waking up the past few days, instead of getting yanked out of slumber with a torturing sound ⏰.

Overall this is a nice clock that works as described, but it stops beeping after three minutes. This is a serious flaw for someone like me who needs their alarm to go off for 5–10 minutes so that I don't fall back asleep.

Even with other Braun clocks advertised as silent, they're really not. So I opted for digital, but it's hard to find a digital clock that isn't ugly. This one is it. For one thing, it actually IS small, unlike other clocks advertised as mini but aren't. And it's unobtrusive and even beautiful. The only thing I didn't like was that when you tap the top for the backlight, the backlight is blue. But since it only stays lit for 10 seconds, it doesn't bother me. I just got it so I can't attest to its durability, but so far it works perfectly and is easy to use. A warning, though: unless you tap the top for the backlight, it's hard to see the time. I don't think this would work for me in another place during the day; but for my nightstand, it's absolutely perfect. I don't need to see the time except when I tap the top for the 10 second light. Speaking of that tap, there's nothing easier. The lightest tap on the top is all it takes.

So easy to use, easy to see the numbers despite the clock's small size, and the light, which illuminates with the slightest touch to the top of the clock, isn't too bright. I bought a Howard Miller travel alarm clock 21 years ago, and it lasted me about 19 years. I replaced it with the exact same model, but within about a year the new one started being unreliable. I considered replacing it again with the same model, but then saw this one for less money and fewer perks to go wrong, so decided to "downgrade." Really glad I did--so much easier to use than my old one. And if it lasts as long as my original HM clock, then I'll feel hopeful for the future of humanity LOL.

I purchased this alarm as a replacement to one that just didn't work right. This one is awesome. There is a large "on off" switch which helps prevent accidentally turning it off (my other one had a little push button so it turned off easily.) The beeping is a little quiet at first, but it increases so I can't sleep through it, unlike the old one. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an actual alarm clock.

Slightly pricy but a HUGE step up from the generic made in china junky travel alarm clocks that barely last 1 trip. Very simple to set time/alarm. Alarm sound is neat/starts gently and then get's surprisingly loud. Only criticism-for the price/Braun should really include a small case for it so the backlight switch doesn't keep coming in your luggage and drain battery. (I just remove battery when I am travelling and stick the clock in my sock to protect it.)

EDIT: 18 MONTHS AFTER WRITING MY BELOW FIRST RAVING REVIEW, THIS EXPENSIVE TINY CLOCK HAS GONE ROGUE. The display remains lit up, sucking the batteries dry. Impossible to set the time - All buttons are unresponsive. I never carried the clock in bags for travel, never fiddled with the buttons, never used the alarm, it has sat on the edge of my reading station for 18 months, and has stopped working overnight. FIRST REVIEW: First as a gift to my companion who wanted a tiny clock with large display, yet not always brightly lit, with slick and simple design, uncomplicated in features, and of great quality build. I was on a hunt for two months, comparing, testing, purchasing and returning...until this little guy caught my attention and it is a HIT! She loved it, me too, and I ordered one for myself. Pros: All the above mentioned qualities, PLUS Numerals on the screen slightly visible when on standby, and at the touch - not the press - but an actual skin contact on the top of the clock, the numerals lighten up in perfect soft gray tone. It is light and sturdy without having any kind of extra stand to handle. It is the largest display for the smallest overall size I could find; Best DFR (Design/Functionality Ratio) Setup is a child-play. Con: None really! It doesn't come with a 'travel' soft sheath which would protect it when thrown into a travel bundle. This isn't a CON of the clock itself but a failure from the marketing standpoint. Anyway, we don't use ours for traveling; smartphones do the job. Brawn is known for their quality and design, and this digital clock is a pearl!

I love this clock. It is elegantly designed. The digits are easy to see, and the backlight is sufficiently bright but not overly so, when turned on with just a touch on the top. The time/alarm adjust works fine (some reviews said it was "fiddly). Alarm starts at moderate volume and increases in intensity. Only downside is the touch on-switch for backlight -- could be a problem for throwing in a suitcase. A small smooth piece of cardboard helps prevent that - but it would be nice if this clock came with a case.

I didn't want a clock radio or something I had to plug in, I don't want a cluttered small nightstand, and I especially didn't want something wtih glaring bright numbers at home like you get stuck with in hotel rooms with random cheapie nightstand clocks sometimes. So I ordered this small, well-made Braun digital travel alarm clock. Looks great, very compact but elegant. So far it of course works great, and uses only a single AAA battery. Its numbers are not bright unless you touch the top "Snooze / Light" button, which is actually more of a touch-surface, not a button the clicks. The backlight comes on for 10 seconds. Be aware that you cannot read the display most of the time in the middle of the night in a darkened room until you touch the top button. Curious about the battery life - 6 months? Year? (or (likely) several years?

This little clock is worth every penny I paid for it. Simple, straight forward. You don't have to look at a little folded up paper of instructions translated from the Chinese. No instructions needed. The settings work like a normal clock should be. It does not actually say where it is made, but the address for the company is London. Their is no way this is made in China. That is quite obvious. The alarm is great. Starts of real slow and quiet and slowly gets louder and faster. The indiglo light comes on by just lightly touching the top. No glaring light is on all night. Just one AAA battery needed.
