    • Impressive Machine!
We toyed with the idea of buying a home elliptical for years, and finally decided to take the plunge. After spending a few weeks doing my research, we finally decided on this Body Solid E400 Center Drive Elliptical, and we couldn't be happier. Our space was limited, and a center drive machine has a smaller footprint than the front and rear drive machines have. Let me tell you, this is a solid machine!! It may not be for commercial use, but you could have fooled me! The build quality is excellent, and it's super smooth and whisper quiet. In fact, my wife didn't even realize that I was on it! We didn't need, or want, a machine where you have to pay for a monthly subscription to access their workout programs. This comes with a bunch of built-in programs, as well as 20 levels of resistance that you can access manually, or will automatically adjust depending on which program you choose. The 10 x 14 LED display is clear and easy to toggle thru the programs. We chose the E400 over it's sister E300 because it offered an adjustable stride function. The stride adjustment is not automatic, but very easy to adjust (If you don't have a need to adjust the stride, the E300 is almost identical to the E400, for $200 to $300 less). Assembly was fairly easy, and took my wife and I about 2 hours. The instruction manual is clear and concise, with easy to follow text and illustrations. You don't need to be a professional contractor to assemble it. It's a little pricey, but with home exercise machines, you do get what you pay for. If you're looking for a straight-forward machine that's well built, will provide years of use, and a great cardio workout, you can't go wrong with this Body Solid E400. ... show more

    • Good machine but a couple issues
You need to add a couple of 5/8" locking washers to the side, stride lock bolts, otherwise it starts knocking and loosening while you work out. I also noticed that you can't really go very fast on this model (unlike the E300) because the mechanics start locking up once you get to a certain speed...In other words, you can walk and jog pace but forget about sprinting or running speeds on this model. Overall, I'm very happy with this trainer and hope to get many years of use out of it. ... show more

    • This is a good space-saver elliptical
This is a good space-saver elliptical, but it is noisy, makes a squeaking sound. We are working with their support team to get it fixed, so far they have been responsive. Will update once we know if they can fix it.
