The best teapot I have ever owned. Large thick glass with large opening at the top, a nice wide stainless steel basket that lets loose leaf tea expand fully. Classy design with a wide lip spout that does not drip all over. The only thing I would change if I were the Bodum company is I would make the handle out of metal instead of plastic, other than that this teapot is a winner.

I am shocked to receive this so quickly. It traveled half way around the world in just a few days. Amazing! This teapot is elegant and functional. I have the matching creamer and sugar set, and also a few of the copper storage jars. They are impressive when displayed together. They are made in Portugal and every piece is absolutely gorgeous.

Likes: * Lovely, simple design * Can make a large pot of tea * Large basket size allows for water to flow through/steep well * Sturdily made with good materials * Insulated copper top helps hold the heat Dislikes: * Basket has to be placed carefully - has a tendency to fall into the pot rather than being suspended * That being said, when the basket is corrected seated, it doesn't work well for smaller amounts because of the large gap between at the bottom. Overall, this is a very good purchase.

Badly designed! Does not pour!

This doesn't pour. The lid doesn't fit well and the tea just dribbles out. The knob for the lid also gets really hot if I want to handle it after making tea in it. For the price and the brand name, I expect a lot more from Bodum. This thing is just lousy. It looks pretty, but can't be used! I had company trying to use it the other day and they said the same thing about it. A teapot that can't pour is just a bucket!

Not so "classic" Chambord Copper Classic Teapot

“The details are not the details. They make the design.” One of my favorite quotes from Charles Eames. With this thought in mind, I review the Chambord Copper Classic Teapot, 44 oz. I have an older version of this teapot in stainless steel from 2003. I broke the glass bowl about 2 years ago and discovered Bodum does not sell replacement parts for this teapot. On their website, I was reluctant to spend $50+shipping for a new one, just to get the glass part. The designer in me eventually caved in and bought this copper version for $43+free prime shipping. At first glance it looks the same. However, after I carefully unscrewed the more flimsy copper-plated metal frame to get the glass bowl and place it into the old stainless steel version... the Copper Classic teapot is not so classic after all. Made in Portugal, the copper-plated frame is assembled, not soldered. The lid is plastic on the inside and the lid handle is also plastic that’s coated to match the copper plating. The strainer is also smaller. Also the lid seems to sit a little too low, so the opening of the spout is much smaller than I remembered. I have to pour more slowly. As for the glass itself, I hope Bodum didn’t compromise on that too so this beautiful teapot can last for another 10+ years.

Attractive and functional.

Looks great, hold high volume. Copper color is very attractive. Lid sits a little low, though, so when it's full and you're initially pouring it is a slow, slow stream. Otherwise, large basket allows for a large surface area for the tea to steep.

Beautiful Teapot

I love this teapot. It's easy to hand wash and keep clean, unlike a lot of the other teapots I have had in the past. Also, the tea stays warm for quite a while.
