I was looking forward to getting the Nespresso Vertuo Next. I have had a Keurig for years, and after tasting coffee made in my sisters Nespresso (original) I was ready for the step up. I opened the Amazon packaging, which was the usual pristine Amazon packaging (5* for that) and noticed that the Nespresso box was damaged. After taking pictures, I opened it, to realize that this was quite obviously a customer return, not a new machine. Still, I went ahead and opened it. The box of capsules that came with it was also opened and some capsules bent. I figured I could straighten those easily enough and proceeded to set up the machine. Per the instructions I ran through a cleaning cycle. Good thing, the water that came out was the shade of light coffee - very dirty with particles. I ran another cleaning cycle. still dirty. It took 5 cycles to get more or less clean water. I should have given up at this point, but the next morning I made a cup of coffee, and it was very good. This morning (day 3) I made 2 more cups, also good. Then it stopped working completely. Can't make coffee (wasted one pod, and these things are not inexpensive (compared to Keurig), can't run the clean cycle, can't even run the empty water cycle. So it's going back. The other thing is that the Nespresso Vertuo Next is LOUD. I have it upstairs in my office. My wife, downstairs, asked me I was doing that was so loud. I was used to being on work calls while making a cup of coffee in my old Keurig. Would not be possible with this model of nespresso. Also, the locking mechanism is different than what I expected. Other models have a touch pop-up lid, this has a manual lock that takes some force to close and lock. In terms of an easy to use coffee maker, this model doesn't make the cut. Overall, this was a very poor experience. I'm going to try again, with a different model. Overall impressions of the experience, very poor. Overall impression of this model, also poor. Loud (very loud), harder to operate than other Nespresso models. The coffee that I was able to make was good. It didn't seem as hot as other machines I've used, and cooled quickly. I'll see what a Vertuo Plus is like. ... show more

I just received mine yesterday, ran the cycle perfectly fine to clean it out for the first time. Made my first cup of coffee heaven this morning! This was a pure party in my mouth experience! I had to google a few things for use but definitely worth the purchase!

The media could not be loaded. This coffee maker has actually been a game changer! We are avid Starbucks drinkers and since getting our Nespresso our coffees are just as good at home. Such a great value for the money and easy to use. It brews fast and consistently. You can get pods for regular coffee or single or double espresso shots. Update: The customer service representative worked with me for one hour. She was impressive and patient and ttrird everything. The machine is defective. She’s sending me a new machine. ————- Horrid customer service. The machine stooped working after two weeks and none of the online videos or other suggestions helped. I also list my Bluetooth connection to the machine and am unable to restore it. I’ve tried calling customer service e. Was online for 20 minutes before someone picked up the phone — and hung up before greeting me or awaiting my greeting. Surreal. I am now trying again. 22 minutes - and no one has picked up. I love my Nespresso! I have had it for a few months now, and have had no issues. I am one of those girls that usually gets an iced coffee on her way to work every morning and this has broken that habit! I Have saved so much money since buying this machine. It is well worth the initial investment. Super easy to use, and quick! I used to have a Breville machine that took ground espresso, but it was way too much work. This is so simple and easy, just pop in a pod and boom! Delicious coffee! The machine is not very loud either, which I appreciate. MUCH better coffee/espresso than any other pod coffee machine I have owned in the past. I hesitated for a while prior to purchasing, but I wish I had just gotten it sooner! ... show more
