EDIT AND UPDATE: It WAS user error on my part. I bought a different but similar remote and I was not holding the button down long enough, which I discovered by reading the instructions that came with the new and different but very similarly operated remote. When I tried it with my old ones, they both worked. So I upgraded to 5 stars because it works fine. It was truly plug and play for the first year. (I used it for turning xmas tree on and off). But this year I can't get it to perform as it did. I've tried the learn button which will make the lights turn on but it won't cooperate with remote. and yes I checked the battery and the indicator lights also work, they just won't operate the plug. Could it be user error? Yes, but I can't find anything about this product to fix this issue. That's why 4 stars. But it did work great for a year which isn't bad for the price. ... show more
