  • Great Little Device!
I will start out this review by saying I do still have landline telephone service at my house. But recently I took possession of an old landline telephone that belonged to a family member, and wanted a way to use it via Bluetooth with my smartphone. The cell2jack does exactly what I need it to do. The phone I tested this with was a 1970s touch tone desk phone (I do NOT currently own any rotary dial phones with modular (RJ11) jacks, so while cell2jack says that this WILL work with those phones, I don't have a way to test that (yet)). Pairing is simple: just plug the USB cable (which is admitting short) into a wall adapter like the one you use with your smartphone (they do NOT include one in the box... you have to supply your own, which isn't a big deal, and while the included USB cable is short, you can swap it out for ANY USB cable if you need a longer one), plug your RJ11 cord into both your phone and the cell2jack (also not included, but that's expected), and then take your landline phone off-gook, and dial #*# (a voice prompt will tell you to pair it to use it). Then just select it within your smartphone's Bluetooth devices, and connect to it. The cell2jack essentially turns your landline phone into a Bluetooth headset for your smartphone. One thing I will say about the cell2jack is that I believe there is supposed to be a dial tone emitted from the landline phone connected to it (just as if you were using a regular landline), but I got no dial tone when I picked up the receiver. However, the touch tones still worked, and the calls were patched through to my smartphone immediately. This may cause confusion for some. Receiving calls works well, and the mechanical bell ringer on my vintage landline phone started ringing at the same time my smartphone did. In both cases (making and receiving calls), when I hung up the handset of my vintage landline phone, the cell2jack disconnected and ended the call on my smartphone almost immediately, which is great. I haven't yet connected the cell2jack to a landline phone with built-in Caller ID, so I'm not sure if the CID information from my smartphone would pass through to a connected landline (I will be trying this in the near future). You can apparently also hook the cell2jack directly to an RJ11 telephone jack in your house, and ALL landline phones in your house connected to other RJ11 jacks will work together as if you had landline service. This is also something I have not yet tried, and don't have any intention to, as I have landline service as well. Another feature I haven't tried yet and would like to try is the built in pass-thru for a smartphone's voice assistant (i.e. Siri or Google Gemini). I will have to try that soon as well. Finally, I love how small the device is. I'd assume that, if you had enough space inside the casing of your landline phone, you could put the cell2jack right inside of it and hide it, although sitting behind or right next to your landline, it still looks good. Whether you're a vintage telephone collector, or just want to keep your landline phones hooked up after you disconnect your landline service, the cell2jack delivers. Sure there are more expensive devices like this out there, but the cell2jack delivers on what you'd expect one to do for a great price. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Great Gadget. Great Service. Good Price for the outcome.
We are having to move my father to a memory care facility, and we wanted him to be able to call us. He has a phone with 8 photo buttons that he can just push, and it will dial the person whose face is on the button. This system was just the solution we were looking for. Having a landline in the room was going to be cost prohibitive as the only service option was Verizon and it would have been $90 per month which is ridiculous. I was able to use his cell phone to connect the adapter to his push button phone and it works like a charm. So glad that I found this item. Additionally, I had some technical questions for the company, and they responded immediately via email. Good customer service is refreshing and appreciated. ... show more

  • Cell 2 jack
Worked perfectly for my sister. She was bad about turning her volume down on cell phone and not realizing it. Little bit of dementia going on. I also bought a land line phone so she could always answer the phone when I called to check on her.

  • Make sure you have sufficient power to device
The instructions said that I needed to use the charging block that came with my cell phone, or an equivalent, I couldn’t use my phone charging block because it’s C to C, not USB to whatever the Cell2Jack connector is. In my first efforts I used a charger that had worked well on other devices but apparently did not put out enough power to run the Cell2Jack. Once I “borrowed” a charging block from elsewhere in the house and connected the Cell2Jack to that charging block, everything worked immediately. In my test calls, the recipient said that the sound was slightly tinny, but not bad. For what it’s worth, I think one or two different types of power cords ought to be included with the unit, even if they have to charge slightly more money. I was frankly about ready to send the unit back in my frustration with it, all because of the power issue which was caused by the incompatible cord, but as noted, it is now working fine and I'm happy. When I have to make a lot of calls, calling on the cell phone is a nuisance. An old fashioned desktop phone is great. ... show more

  • Connecting cell phone to landline
Just started using it and so far it works as advertised. I'm working on some issues with echo's but am sure it will be corrected. It is hard to believe hooked up to my landline answering machine and all cordless phones it works so well with my cell phone connected to it

  • Great adapter!
I was so hesitant to buy this because of other reviews, but this thing is AWESOME! I have been using it for about a week now and I’m buying another for our living room! This has been just perfect if you want to continue to receive calls without a screen in your face. It works great and considering you don’t need a new phone plan for it to work, the value and how much you pay for it is well worth it. The sound quality is that of an old landline and truly depends on the phone you are using, but it is clear and works great! Would recommend to anyone wanting to try some screen free time without the worry of not being able to be reached! ... show more
