Great Replacement Home Phone Bluetooth Device
This device works very well as a home phone replacement. It's super easy to setup. You connect your home phone to the device, turn Bluetooth on for the smartphone you will use as the home phone, and you have a working home phone. I like that you can power the cellphone from the device itself to keep everything contained in a small footprint. The device is small and compact and has a good appearance. Both incoming and outgoing calls work well. I like that you can adjust the volume of the speaker on the home phone devices as well as the sensitivity of the microphone on the home phone devices. You can also adjust the power consumption of the device to help with interference noises or crackling sounds while talking on the phone. All of these settings can be adjusted with short codes provided on the website. I appreciate the ability to make these changes as needed based on your personal preferences. The device maintains a stable connection and latency is what I would expect for a Bluetooth device. For incoming calls, there is a short delay of approximately 3 seconds after the phone is answered where the caller cannot hear you (but you can hear the caller) as the device connects via Bluetooth to the home phone device. For outgoing calls, there are no such delays. Overall, this device works very well and allows you to have a home phone setup in a compact form factor. WOW! See Update Re Volume
This is great! First of all, you DO NOT need landline service for this; that would defeat the purpose of this device. You also don't need an app or a computer. There's a lot of misinformation in the reviews. This is a very simple product that includes the Cell2Jack (C2J) device, about half the size of a deck of cards, and a short USB cable. You'll need a wall adapter to plug the C2J into, as one is not provided. I used one from an old cell phone. The directions are easy to follow and the process, simple. Took me less than 5 minutes. I get a dial tone in the landline, and audio couldn't be better. Be aware that this device does not provide landline SERVICE. What it does, is allow you to use your landline PHONE--by using your cell phone service. That included, for example, my cell phone's voicemail. I have my cell phone set to accept only calls from those in my contacts. Anyone else gets sent to my voice mail (the phone then only rings once, that's how I can tell.) My personal preference is to use a landline handset because I find that more comfortable than using a cell phone against my ear, which sometimes either inadvertently hits buttons I don't want pressed, or causes an audio echo. This delivers since using a landline phone eliminates all of that. And you're supposed to have your cell phone with Bluetooth connected placed within 30 feet of the C2J. Well, I have the landline in the living room...and I was able to receive calls to that landline phone with me in a bedroom or in the den with the cell phone, each room more than 30 feet away from the C2J. And I can make outgoing calls on the landline with the connected cell phone left in another room. What that means is that, though I'd planned on leaving the cell phone next to the landline while at home, I don't have to. I can text or whatever in those 2 additional rooms (maybe more) and calls will still connect! Nice! Update: There are a lot of adjustments that can be made. For example, you may want to change the volume on your landline. You easily do this by entering numbers between 24 and 28 by using your landline keypad. The volume defaults at 26. If that's too low, enter 27# on your landline phone. You should hear a "chime" or some confirmation tone. The volume will be higher on calls and it remains at that setting unless you change it. If the volume is still not high enough, try 28# for the maximum volume. Likewise, you can adjust it lower, using. 24# or 25#. What a great product! ... show more

Parents looking for less screens for your kids. THIS.IS.IT
This is a fun and cool way to tech your children how to have phone etiquette if that's the right word. We have a toddler they love to talk to Grandma Aunts ect.. but the screen is a DISTRACTION. This was an attempt to see if my toddler would stop trying to touch the screen or scroll and see of they actually have the ability to talk on the phone. When it was just my cell phone, my toddler would sit in silence as Auntie or whomever would talk and then just try and look at the screen. I got this and it's been really fun. They know when the phone rings it's someone calling,and they actually talk and have well a toddler jibberish conversation but they found it fun. It's the first time I have seen my 3 yr old actually try and converse on the phone to someone. I am using it to teach important phone numbers and dialing out as well as just simple phone etiquette when it's appropriate to answer a phone around meals, and use it ect.. its a great tool. So to me as a parent this is a win to me. I needed to lessen my screen time. I now have with this being hooked up in our home. My child sees that I dial out (you don't have to you could just use your cell phone but I'm trying to lead by example) it's one less techy screen distraction in our home and I believe it's making my child a better communicator. I am going to attempt to find a Jack splitter to see if I can hook up 2 different types of landlines and still they all ring and work ect.. Will update once I do. I viewed the cost as much as a typical Bluetooth so it seemed reasonable, I think it is a good value. You still may have to purchased a landline (we goodwilled ours) and a RJ511 phone cable. It's durable and not cheap feeling in weight and how it was packaged and put together. Fast to put together once you have all your cords, and yes it's corded tech so you have to organize that but the appearance isn't ugly or gaudy, it's just a small white box the size of an average palm I would say. Works and allows me to avoid my Cell Phone when home
4.5, I like it. Using with AT&T Corded Home Phone ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09R1QDLH6?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 ). It works, the Phone reliably receives and makes calls from my Cell Phone. Easy to set up and pair; when I get home, I can put my Cell Phone out of reach. I got these two items to help reduce my in-home smartphone usage. I don't know if it's the AT&T Corded Home Phone or the CELL2JACK causing this, but, the volume of incoming calls is low and there is a constant buzzy humming--I saw in the CELL2JACK directions that this can be caused by the power adapter used, so idk. Overall, I am thrilled with the fact that this WORKS for what I wanted it for. CELL2JACK + AT&T Corded Home Phone together costed less than bluetooth-installed Phone receivers, so I would recommend this combination to someone interested in using a Home Phone as a Cell Phone receiver. ... show more

Great Little Device!
I will start out this review by saying I do still have landline telephone service at my house. But recently I took possession of an old landline telephone that belonged to a family member, and wanted a way to use it via Bluetooth with my smartphone. The cell2jack does exactly what I need it to do. The phone I tested this with was a 1970s touch tone desk phone (I do NOT currently own any rotary dial phones with modular (RJ11) jacks, so while cell2jack says that this WILL work with those phones, I don't have a way to test that (yet)). Pairing is simple: just plug the USB cable (which is admitting short) into a wall adapter like the one you use with your smartphone (they do NOT include one in the box... you have to supply your own, which isn't a big deal, and while the included USB cable is short, you can swap it out for ANY USB cable if you need a longer one), plug your RJ11 cord into both your phone and the cell2jack (also not included, but that's expected), and then take your landline phone off-gook, and dial #*# (a voice prompt will tell you to pair it to use it). Then just select it within your smartphone's Bluetooth devices, and connect to it. The cell2jack essentially turns your landline phone into a Bluetooth headset for your smartphone. One thing I will say about the cell2jack is that I believe there is supposed to be a dial tone emitted from the landline phone connected to it (just as if you were using a regular landline), but I got no dial tone when I picked up the receiver. However, the touch tones still worked, and the calls were patched through to my smartphone immediately. This may cause confusion for some. Receiving calls works well, and the mechanical bell ringer on my vintage landline phone started ringing at the same time my smartphone did. In both cases (making and receiving calls), when I hung up the handset of my vintage landline phone, the cell2jack disconnected and ended the call on my smartphone almost immediately, which is great. I haven't yet connected the cell2jack to a landline phone with built-in Caller ID, so I'm not sure if the CID information from my smartphone would pass through to a connected landline (I will be trying this in the near future). You can apparently also hook the cell2jack directly to an RJ11 telephone jack in your house, and ALL landline phones in your house connected to other RJ11 jacks will work together as if you had landline service. This is also something I have not yet tried, and don't have any intention to, as I have landline service as well. Another feature I haven't tried yet and would like to try is the built in pass-thru for a smartphone's voice assistant (i.e. Siri or Google Gemini). I will have to try that soon as well. Finally, I love how small the device is. I'd assume that, if you had enough space inside the casing of your landline phone, you could put the cell2jack right inside of it and hide it, although sitting behind or right next to your landline, it still looks good. Whether you're a vintage telephone collector, or just want to keep your landline phones hooked up after you disconnect your landline service, the cell2jack delivers. Sure there are more expensive devices like this out there, but the cell2jack delivers on what you'd expect one to do for a great price. Highly recommended! ... show more

Does not work like they advertise. Echos, connection issues and poor customer service.
Don't waste the money. I hooked this up as the instructions said. At first, I was somewhat pleased. Then the issues started. When I would take the cell phone out of the house, the Cell2Jack would not reconnect upon returning without power cycling the Cell2Jack. Then I found if the cell phone was more than a few feet away from the Cell2Jack, it would drop the call off the home handsets. You would then have to resume the call on the cell phone. Next issue, everyone I called said there was a noticeable echo. Several said there was a "swishing" sound. I went into the settings using their utility program and increased the echo compensation, no change. I contacted their tech support who was no help. They told me the problem was most likely my handset. They sent me a link to a new phone on Amazon and told me to buy it so we could then troubleshoot the problems. They said I could just return the phone when we were done troubleshooting. I had an email chain 22 long. They told me home interference was most likely the cause, or my handset. I told them even with the handset disconnected, the cell phone still lost their pairing. They told me if I had more than their device connected to my cell phone it would probably be causing the issue. I told them I currently only had their device connected. They requested a screen shot of my phones bluetooth setting/connections. I guess they didn't believe me. It all ended when they finally said their device was probably defective. They said I could return it for a refund. Hours wasted back and forth with them blaming everything else. Now the good part. While reading reviews on the Cell2Jack, I came across a 1 star review that suggested an Xlink BTHD device. It is more money but wow. I plugged it in, paired the phone and it was running. A few calls. No more echos, no swishing. I return home; the phone reconnects. Shop for that, don't go for the Cell2HJack ... show more

Useful when charging, but with some flaws
I've been using this for roughly 3 weeks & I've found while it does allow me to continue using my Panasonic KX-TGD220 (wireless phone) using my cell as the main, it does have some flaws & ultimately I decided I was only going to use it while charging the phone. First thing you'll need to know is that it's best to leave your cellphone next to the Cell2Jack when you intend on using a phone connected to it, this allows for the strongest signal to the phone. Most people will have their cell on them when not charging it, so it may be more ideal to speak on the cell instead if not near the Cell2Jack as you'll get a better signal that way. I have found that I don't get a very good signal on the cell in the bathroom (no windows & I have a metallic roof), so this is one case where it's more ideal to use the cordless phone over the cell. Ultimately the first priority in a strong signal is your cell phone before even considering placement of the Cell2Jack, so consider that first by finding out where your signal is strongest where you live. Second point I'm going to go over, the Cell2Jack puts itself into pairing mode automatically when powered up if not able to pair with a previously paired device (or if this is your first time powering it up). This could be a bit of a problem if somebody close by accidentally hijacks the device with their own cell, but it's fairly simple to re-pair to your own cell by entering a keypad code on your phone, just something to keep in mind if you start getting calls on your phone that aren't getting to your cell (the cell should display calls coming in as you get called on your phone connected to the Cell2Jack. This will likely only be a problem if there is a power outage/flicker while you are away from home or if your phone is powered down. Third point is going to cause some problems if you are calling (or receiving calls) from automated systems; it seems the dial tones don't correctly go through to the cell, so you're likely going to find that you'll still need to use the keypad on your cell if you have to navigate automated systems that require keypresses (dialing phone numbers is not a problem however). Forth point is related to picking up your voice. I've noticed that if somebody is talking or making noise through the phone (this includes wind going by an open window while driving, other background noises or even loud static on a call), it seems that your phone will stop picking up your voice (pretty common with bluetooth communication devices from my experience), this wasn't an issue I had when I had wired or VOIP phone service. If you're patient & can wait for a particularly talkative person to stop talking, this shouldn't be a problem, but when it comes to talking with my mother, she's constantly cutting me off, so I find myself repeating myself quite a bit using my phone with this device... In regards to Caller ID, it doesn't seem to register correctly on my cordless phones. There's a key code you can supposedly press in the instructions to make it carry over, but I haven't seen it work yet (at least not fully; it does show a phone number, but no name)... Even if you have a phone that is capable of caller ID, you may find that you're still going to be using your cell for caller ID (which can be a bit troublesome if you are using a multi-handset wireless phone). Additionally, keep in mind if the Caller ID isn't functioning correctly, any phones that rely on Caller ID to set the time on your phone will never update to the correct time (as is the case with my wireless phones). In regards to using Voice Assistance, a lot of these functions may not work if your phone is locked, this can be an issue if your using a partyline (or multi-handset wireless phones) to access those functions from a room other than where your cell phone is. Final statement is while Cell2Jack can be useful making phones available in areas that would normally be deadzones or having a poor signal on your cell in your home, a bluetooth headset might be a better choice unless you already have a wired phone with functions you want to retain access to (like an answering machine, block list or programmed quickcalls), Cell2Jack just eliminates the concern of battery life when it comes to wireless communication devices. ... show more

Bringing new life to old phones! This is GREAT!
What a great thing! I have/collect things from the 60's and 70's. Within that collection is my favorite rotary desk phone. Since I've gone total VOIP in my home, the phone would work only to take calls. The CELL2JACK changed that! Now my rotary phone is connected to my cell phone by bluetooth. More than that, it can now dial out! I love being able to talk on a conventional phone again. I hate to admit it, but after an argument with someone, slamming the receiver down is so much more satisfying than pushing "end call" on a cell phone! ... show more
