I needed a bit to drill some holes to retrofit a farm implement. I usually buy single name brand bits from our local supply house. I had some time before I needed it so I thought I would try these. So far so good! I have punched a dozen 13/16 holes and it is as sharp as it was on the first cut. I also used the 1/2"ish for a couple holes and it worked great too. These are weird increments (1/5" !?) so if you need nats a$$ precision probably not right for you but for Construction and Farm Work so far I give it a good recommendation. We are building a 50 ft. climbing tower engineered with Ibeams and L's and some of the plates are 3/4in thick. We have 1400 holes necessary to drill and are about half of the way through. We bought 2 sets of these but haven't opened the 2nd set and haven't seen any wear on the bits yet. The bit selection is perfect. We always drill a 1/16 larger hole than the bolt so for a 1/2 in. bolt We need a 9/16 in hole so look at this set and you will probably realize it is perfect for normal size bolts. ... show more

Great value. Cuts well. Take time to set up a squeeze bottle with cutting fluid/water and keep spritzing. And these bits will last you a long time. Well worth it.

I have used several of these on mild steel and also used the 1/2 and 11/16 in the milling milling machine to plunge holes in some aluminum. These cutters have performed very well in my mag drill and the milling machine. If they hold up over the long haul I will be very happy.
