    • This light warms the water
I installed a power monitoring wi-fi switch (topgreener) at the plug-in to determine UV bulb status. The UV bulb (8 watt) also warms the water; especially when it's not flowing. I will setup a schedule on the wi-fi switch to keep the static water cool.

    • Works well, very low power
Works like a charm. I was confused by three pieces that were in the kit but didn't seem to fit anything. The two plastic clamps don't seem to fit the housing but it wasn't hard to work around that. At only 6W of power this unit is especially nice in solar powered applications like mine. The built-in John Guest fittings make it super easy to add to your water line. I would think that everyone with a drinking fountain or an ice-maker would want a unit like this on their incoming water line. When the town issues a "boil water" alert, you can rest easy knowing your water and ice cubes are sanitized without boiling, which does tend to take a toll on ice cubes. ... show more

    • Excellent customer service
Ballast failed within a month. Makes a clicking noise and the red light is flashing under fault. It was easy to install and shows no signs of leaks. Found out it was just a bad bulb. No replacement was offered. But excellent customer service to help figure out why it may have blown. Was told it could be a crack or moister inside tube. It's very dry. So installed the spare bulb and so far so good. I will buy a higher quality bulb on amazon. ... show more

    • easy to install, but bulbs burn out in about 4 weeks
Bought this unit since the old UV units lights were so hard to find and hence two spare lights from the other vendor was the same price as this complete kit. I installed the unit in about 30 minutes, took my sweet time so it could probably be done a fair bit faster. Works great. Unfortunately the bulb burned out after 6 weeks, maybe a bad bulb, lets hope the next one lasts the "promised" 52 weeks I do recommend the unit/kit, but make sure you pick up a few spare bulbs since they may not last the advertised 52 weeks. Update 2/20/21) well, the second light did not even last a month so well under the advertised 9000 hour. I don't think I even got 700hours from it.. ... show more

    • Bulbs do not last
Had my unit installed for 6 weeks, fault indicator came on and bulb was burned out, lucky to have a replacement, but says bulbs last a year, well obviously sell with defective bulbs if burning out at 6 weeks, but have not gotten sick from contamination, so far so good, but should come with 10 bulbs

    • Great compact UV filter for reverse osmosis filters
The water at my office is full of iron, iron bacteria and manganese. I put in a reverse osmosis filter to clean the water and this UV sterilizer to kill any bacteria or viruses. The unit came with a spare bulb and will sterilize more water than my filter will put out. The provided clamps allowed me to mount it on top of the existing filters and works great. It draws little power, although I have noticed the water sitting in the filter when not used warms slightly, but I don't find it an issue. ... show more

Product came as described. Included bracket did not fit my Apex RO system. I used zip tie instead. I rinsed and flush the SS tube before installing. Installation was straight forward. Now for the taste test. I installed this system at the very end of the RO right before the water faucet. - ppm went up 10 ppm - water had metallic taste Ended up returning the system. ... show more
