If you're looking for a cost effective option to print text documents from a phone or tablet on the go, this will do fine. My computer has yet to connect to it and print properly. I installed the drivers, I tried connecting via USB, I tried connecting via Bluetooth, and either way the computer will recognize it, but that's about it. I have more fiddling to do with it to see if it can work, but so far the furthest I've gotten it is it will add it to the printer list, but it still doesn't recognize the drivers. It could be on Window's side, but regardless it's not plug and play ready for PC. For Android it works great with the app. I don't like having to use proprietary applications, and I don't like that I can't seem to print from the source. I have to save/download the file and open it in the application to print. The print quality is pretty bad at the default 'thickness', but gets much better the heavier you get. All said, if you're looking for a way to print from a phone or tablet, and want something extremely portable, then this is a solid choice. It's not a replacement for a regular printer; it's great for a niche circumstance. ... show more

I was able to set it up in a few minutes and start using it without any issues. My phone connected to it without any problems and it has made printing a lot more convenient. First, this is a very compact printer. It comes with a startup guide and more complete instructions. It also comes with two USB to USB-C cables, all in a long and thin carrying bag. First you use one of the cables to connect your computer to the printer, then download a print driver for your operating system. Then you install the printer. They tell you to insert the ink ribbon, but mine arrived with it installed. There were several minutes while I tried to figure it out. Next, I checked the paper and at first the opening was just a bit too small for 8.5 by 11 pages. It turned out I had to really push the guide hard to the outside to make the paper fit. After that, I brought up a file, fed a piece of average printer paper, and hit print. It came out in no time. For someone who really needs to be able to print wherever they are, this is probably great. I was a bit disappointed in the print quality. For a one page Word document, it was grainy and a bit faded. For my own purposes in a pinch it would be nice. For any sort of official document, it is lacking in quality. For the price, it should print with better quality. ... show more

I gave this device three stars, but it's really two stars for most people based on price now and later, because you'll have to replace the thermal ribbon. As someone who used to work on the road for extended periods, I can see how this would be a game-changing device for a select few people. But for the rest of the human population, this printer is mediocre and not a particularly good value. Also, the app it relies on is a total dud. One thing you need to know is that one of its biggest plusses is also its biggest minus. Yes, this device can print on regular paper. That's because it uses a thermal printer ribbon cartridge that will have to be replaced depending on how often you use this device. That's going to be a big buzz kill if the ribbon runs out when you're on the road and really need this device to work. The print quality on regular paper with totally fuzzy edges. You can tell it wasn't printed on a professional-quality printer. It sort of reminds me of an ink jet printer that is running dry. The print quality on thermal paper is quite good. With both print modes, there is no smudging, even seconds after printing. As far as paper goes, you're limited to Letter, A4, B4w, B4, B5 and A5. Want to print 4x6 labels? Tough luck. That's kind of a dealkiller for me. The final to the app. It's a hot mess. My least favorite of all. If there's an option to resize, rotate and crop, I haven't found it. And I'm done looking. This printer is not a good value, especially when you consider that you're going to have to buy additional thermal ribbons, which are currently priced at $13 for a two pack. If you are in that very narrow population of road warriors who need physical printers (that don't print very well) in your toolkit, this might be worth considering. If you don't fit that description, you should probably look elsewhere. ... show more

i have purchased quite a few of these and this one is a better unit. What sets it apart from other portable units is that it can use any type of paper. Which is great and saves you money. Overall a great product.
