  • Excellent heavy duty ladder!
Style: Ladder
I bought this ladder to replace the wedding cake stairs we had in our above ground pool. I just did not like them but this ladder is the best! Putting it together was tough because the directions are absolutely horrible. I found some YouTube videos that were able to help but not 100%, but with a little bit of common sense it was not too bad to put together. Once it’s together and installed in the pool, it is excellent. I am so glad that I bought this latter. Do yourself a favor and take the time to put the sand in. We put it in with a funnel and used a rubber mallet to tap on the top to make sure all the sand settled, I think we got a lot more in that way. It has not one time time picked up in the pool. This was a great purchase and I would definitely recommend it. We had all size people using this, from kids to adults over 250 pounds. We have relatives between 70 and 80 years old that easily went in and out of the pool using the ladder without any difficulty at all. I would definitely buy this again, great price for a great purchase ... show more

  • Sturdy
Style: Ladder
As many others have stated, the directions could've been better, but if you take your time and look at the photos, you'll be fine. I did not add sand to the uprights, as I don't want to take any chances of it escaping into my pool, because it's impossible to get it out of there if that happens. I did fill them with water and used a sandbag attached to the backside of the ladder on the swim barrier to anchor it down so it didn't float. Until I got that bag, I sat an old paint can filled with rocks on the top to keep it from floating up. If you know anything at all about science and pool ladders, they all float a bit unless secured somehow. Those is not a new thing. Overall, compared to the old ladder I had that was metal and plastic and not very stable, this one is so much widet and more stable. It made it much easier for my older relatives visiting from out of town to get in and out with ease. One other note, I have a 54" deep pool and the deck up to it is EXACTLY the same height as the pool rail, but I had to cut the pieces that go into the ladder and then into the brackets that get screwed down or the ladder would never have reached the ground inside the pool. ... show more

  • If after it is together you feel it moves too much or isn't sturdy, drill some extra screws in where it is ...
Style: Ladder
I expected the ladder to be flimsy per some reviews. It is stronger than the round stairs i had previously. If after it is together you feel it moves too much or isn't sturdy, drill some extra screws in where it is needed. The bottom part that holds the stairs in the back popped out a few times. We put more screws in. We did not use it yet but i came to post this review to help others with putting it together. It seems very confusing when reading the instructions and they are not clear. Step one: Basically you take the bottom step and place it on the floor. There are two side poles marked E (legs). The instructions say to put the raised areas facing forward. They are exactly the same on both sides except for one small hole at bottom that there were no instructions for. So whichever side the legs face is correct. Pop both legs onto the bottom step until it clicks in place. Step 2: You put the stairs on. on the legs there are five lugs or raised areas that the stairs will go into. They say to put the stairs on the top two lugs that are side by side, just put those through. Next screw the screws in on the sides. I put extra screws in. Then you assemble the bottom part which you just snap two pieces onto the lower base. Our pool was 48 inches and 52 inches to the top rim. We have no deck. We put the top of the stairs right on the pool edge and screwed it in. We didn't use sand. We drilled more holes for the water to fill in. It still floated so we tied weights to the bottom back part and it stayed in nicely. I will update when we actually use it. ... show more

  • A good and sturdy ladder
Style: Ladder
This is a great product, once it is assembled. The assembly instructions suck. I had to drill many holes that should have been done at the factory. In order to use it, you must have a deck of some kind to attach it to. Also, it says to use sand to decrease its buoyancy. I recommend small pebbles as the sand has a tendency to escape. Now that I am using it, all the problems seem quite minor. ... show more
